  1. Don't be; GL2G, FactualPhil, whatever, whoever, drops in to take up space in whatever thread and ramble on ramblingly. Correct his prolific misstatements, and "that's not the point". Whatever.
  2. The train, I mean thread, just don't stop there any more.
  3. Not to mention wanting to be milked as regularly; can't they just hold it till the prices get back to parity?
  4. So, seven is your magic number since someone showed you the difference between 7 and 8?
  5. Sorry you're so down about TSU going to the Belt. Honestly, after that first two years of buttwhippings, a la WKU, y'all should be fine.
  6. And you sound so...well, logical. I think we'll serve ourselves best by being ourselves, since we have a lot of hard work ahead of us, and little reason for smack talk, especially in football. I think the wins will come, but Tulsa has been reminding us lately that things won't be easy. This may be the only time in our sports history that we've had a conference home that "fit", so hopefully, we'll bring our best game, on and off the field.
  7. Just guessing, but maybe he's just now finding the right position. I thought that linebacker was the best position for our defense last year; who would he have taken LB playing time from?
  8. I question whether his wife would want to leave Lubbock; she seems to really be into her business and community, according to this article. http://lubbockonline.com/stories/082407/ent_082407019.shtml One thing I think should not be overlooked in such career moves is the impact that family, especially wives, have on the decision making process. I do think that RV is sensitive to this, and seems to have gone out of his way to acknowledge families of the recent head basketball coaching hires.
  9. I thought I'd end up reading all the way through page 68, but started laughing so hard when it got to the carrot thing I had to stop. Didn't want to wake up the household laughing too hard.
  10. Sad to say, but without Troy Phillips, the Startlegram has no credibility.
  11. Part of the "occupy Apogee" movement? Zombie Rex Cauble returns to North Texas, doesn't have that ranch north of Denton anymore, and has convinced the BOR to cosponsor more of those killer parties he used to host for Texas politicians? A senior recital featuring the world's largest ensemble: all graduating North Texas music students, with parents in attendance?
  12. Could this have been in the somewhat distant past? Those who have met him (as I have been fortunate to do) have the impression of him as being mellow, at least at this point in life. Of course, I do think he enjoys being in Denton, especially when things are going well with his Mean Green. Interesting that you mention having pictures taken with him; I remember thinking about how kind and patient he was with all the ladies lining up and asking to have their pictures taken with him (and no, these weren't the beautiful college aged females for which Denton is so famous).
  13. I think you're on to something there. For one thing, if you finally get something going with that girl of your dreams, she's not going to appreciate your talking about your ex all that much. Maybe the less said (about or to that ex), the better.
  14. If true, this would be the biggest WP scoop since watergate.
  15. So true. There will be some struggling, but it will be worth it.
  16. Nah, you'll bring your own heat.
  17. On this we should all be able to agree.
  18. There was a "Marshall University" there, long since discontinued, and East Texas Baptist used to be "College of Marshall", according to this: "Marshall" in Marshall, Texas Take that information and two dollars, and you could buy a cup of coffee at Starbucks. I haven't spent much time in Marshall, it being the natural rival of my favorite in that area, Jefferson, but Wendy Reves, good friend of Winston Churchill and benefactor of the Dallas Museum of Art, was from there. Maybe once we're in CUSA, we can stop in Marshall to see their Christmas decorations (another Reves gift) on our way to see the Mean Green Play in the Liberty Bowl.
  19. Please tell me about this Peggy Sue.
  20. I hear you, but they are both unique and good. It's not like one is "better" than the other; each brings something to the table!
  21. Maybe twitter isn't always stupid.
  22. I haven't eaten Metzler's barbecue at Apogee. I've enjoyed eating in their restaurant south of the campus, and I've gotten takeout to bring back to Euless. I'm wondering if I would enjoy maybe getting a sandwich there at halftime of a football game, even though I will have already stuffed myself at the tailgate.
  23. I don't care white, black, or whatever race, religion, or national origin, as long as he/she is the right shade of green.
