  1. Good hang time? Inside 20? If he can do those well, I'm ok with whatever else I've read about him. Sounded like he got one to die around the one in the spring game.
  2. I just found out that one of the missing is a Dallas Firefighter who also volunteered with the West VFD (something that many full time firefighters do), so please also keep this individual and his family in your thoughts and prayers. This was passed along from one of the DFR firefighters who share office space with our GIS group at the City.
  3. This is simply horrible. I haven't been to West, but have wanted to, as it calls to my family's Czech heritage. It would be great if the College of Music could hold a fundraiser for these folks. Brave Combo, anyone?
  4. If any of you have had a hamstring injury, you know it can a while to get back from one to being at 100 percent. That said, I think a hamstring is the kind of injury one might expect from someone who hasn't been on the field for a while, and I think it's something Berglund can work through and overcome.
  5. +1, and it does come across as a bit harsh, but I was thinking pretty much the same thing. Having a weird shoe size, I can only buy New Balance, but I guess it reinforces what someone said years ago, something like, "well, at least you can't buy bad shoes". Speaking of shoes, every time I drive through downtown, Logan's shoe/leather whatever still looks like it's in business (maker/modifier of therapeutic shoes). I have to wonder if someone who seemed like an old man when I was in college is still opening the store for business. And, what a man he was!
  6. Well, if a big part of what is much better is his running ability, a hamstring injury is no small problem.
  7. Well, you're from oil country; a rich 'un, I'm sure.
  8. I thought he played well and was surprised he didn't go in the early rounds of the NFL draft, but a lot of the pro teams were in a youth movement.
  9. Finally, someone posting here who understands sports psychology. I'm not saying that thinking you will win makes it so, but I'm pretty sure that thinking you won't win makes winning that much tougher.
  10. Look, we're men. We should understand about shrinkage, especially as the cool days of a late winter linger.
  11. Well, sure. Thompson has been very public about trying to LOSE weight recently.
  12. I'm not sure I follow your logic, but I've thought for a while we should be scheduling them; FBS football and a terrible record in recent years. They're 10-38 under current coach Ron English, who was winless in his first year, 2009.
  13. Mr. Wallace needs to become sirly.
  14. I like the Green Brigade. I just want us to win more games.
  15. We'll still be grouchy if we aren't bowl eligible next year.
  16. Well, we were 0 fer however many trick plays against Troy, but after that game it was like we went into a shell from which we would not venture. I do think there are reasons to believe the offense can improve noticeably next year. I had a brother-in-law in town from Boise, so of course he has a lot to say about college football. He liked everything he saw except that "the passing game doesn't come up to division 1 standards". We at least need to pass to set up the run.
  17. Yeah, I was kinda wondering how Cantly had slowed down so much from high school, where I'm sure his 40 times were probably reported as faster than they were, but damn, that would have been a big drop. Glad to hear he's losing some weight, anyway, I always thought he came into fall camp needing to lose some.
  18. I have been thinking about him. I'd like him to show up big in some of the early games next fall.
  19. It's just an eternal problem faced by students everywhere: blank piece of paper; or nowadays, screen. Eternal solution: write SOMETHING. Do research? Nah. I can't fault his laziness, not having read the whole thing.
  20. So, are we talking "Sid Moore" or "Syd (as in Sydrick) Moore" or the 2013 recruiting class?
  21. I wondered why the "Tulsa to Big East" thing had gotten so quiet.
  22. I'm glad you made that clear, because I was suddenly wondering why these new bifocals I picked up today should be THAT much better than the old ones. Heck, by the time I read from the bottom up and then back down to the bottom, I was agreeing with old PMG: JUCO's aren't necessarily a bad thing. We all got to Denton as fast as we could, didn't we?
  23. Think maybe it's just a bit from the get go?
