I wondered when someone would notice.

Well, this just makes me that much more.....whatever, for the season to start!

Well, it's like we would ALL like to know something on that subject, and I think I'm pretty good at parsing words, but I couldn't find much from those captions saying that it was one or the other.

Solich Top 10 Wins No. 9 - Ohio at North Texas - 2009

I can remember thinking just before halftime, "we should go for the 3 points", just before we went for it and Riley came up short on the keeper. Our kicking game was actually good that night too. So much about that game I'd like to forget... -
I "tapped on the pictures" and suggest Untlynchka "tap on the brakes" as to what, if any conclusion those captions mean.

I'm kinda wondering: we all know that there are about 120 players on the roster during the FB season, but not all of those travel to away games (the last I read maybe 70 were going to Austin). Yet, Silver has been saying basically that, since we have 400 GB members, we would have to send them all or none to any away game. Am I being too subtle?

All marching band members should be assigned a grumpy old man to follow him/her waving a large palm fan.

I guess I don't care what quarterbacks look like. Did anyone who loved blues guitar care what Stevie Ray Vaughan looked like?

UL Monroe should never have played Alabama.

Flush twice, Denver needs the water.

But what do the television networks want?

I'm pretty sure Midwestern is still D2 (Lone Start Conference), so don't see why he couldn't play here next year, if the transfer rule only applies to FBS and FCS.

Campaign to boost Mean Green football attendance

I think Roy Orbison's online biography first defined "Denton-centric" without saying it, when it described Dallas as a place southeast of Denton. -
I believe it is GrayEagle who has mentioned seeing Lee Jackson at games. Ever see a UNT Dallas Police vehicle parked near the stadium entrance? Clunky looking Crown Vic or not, I believe that's his ride. As for the BOR, I'm sure one of them stumbled through our tailgate area at Fouts once; not sure if she's still on the Board or not, but you get the idea. Who doesn't want to have a good time? And on game days, we're the best party within a long, long way. If the Athletic Department doesn't schmooze the movers and shakers half as well as the College of Music does, it's their own damn fault.

Convention Center Update/Criticism/Debate
eulessismore replied to UNTeagle88's topic in Mean Green Football
This is the kind of thing that almost makes me wish I weren't a geographer. Central Place theory anyone? I mean, as a City of Dallas employee, I didn't like the City signing on as the financial guarantor for the Convention Center Hotel, but at least it's in Downtown Dallas, with 3 Interstate Highways providing access, three types of rail service within walking distance and a fourth just about to launch, and arguably the City's premier tourist attraction (Pioneer Plaza with all those sculpted longhorns) a block away. Conspiracy theorists have unlimited entertainment. Once Denton's proposed convention goers are not in whatever session, are they all going to want to spend their spare time at Houlihans? This just seems like the sort of site selection process based on "here's where the vacant land is, build the hotel and the restaurants will follow". Anybody thought of something just east of Downtown Denton, near the new train station, with easy access to UNT, TWU, and Beth Marie's Ice Cream. Honestly, there probably aren't any parcels large enough there, and Denton needs some serious meeting space, but it just needs that space to be somewhere people can enjoy the wonderful small city experience that is Denton, and enjoy some of the decent restaurants that already exist. This whole thing is just so twentieth century. -

Breaking news — Two UNT players arrested
eulessismore replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Is it just my cynicism as I age, or is there anything to this suspicion that I have that people were thinking to themselves, "Well, Abbe's problems got too big to completely ignore, but still, that's a position where we have great need, so hey, glad he's back". Is it just the qualified optimist in me that thinks, "Hey, if they don't have anything prior on their record, stay out of trouble during the rest of their stay here, and contribute in a big way, I'm all for giving them that second chance". And honestly, this is the way I feel. Another thing; kids away from home for the first time need to be told some things that are really stupid to do, and for which people are judged harshly, one of them being theft. People need to feel like they can trust you. And honestly, I feel better about Ellis that he seems to realize he's f'ed up and will have a price to pay. -

Hmmm, well, my least favorite thug in a long time was as white as me. I'll still call the guy a thug, especially now that I've helped getting him the hell out of the neighborhood. It really did take a village. Honestly though, I didn't know he had threatened to kill a woman until he was already gone. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but when a guy is married and has 2 grade school kids, he shouldn't be the least mature of his family. Technically, I don't know if he was a thief, but damn sure did some property damage. -

The coaching staff is determined to establish the Snow College pipeline: "We will make this work". They think they learned enough from the Manu incident to keep student athletes within the defined window. -

I think that may just be a very good place for Orr.

I kind of wonder if Canales didn't have something to do with Brelan to the Chargers, since he coached their QB Philip Rivers.
