  1. Well, I feel for the guy, but it's ridiculous they let players self report concussions, if that's what happened (or didn't). On another down note; Texas now will be without 2 players who were key against us going into BYU. Combining with SMU's showing last night, a poor showing for Texas against BYU is just another hit to our strength of schedule.
  2. Well, I wish there was some reason to believe there's any basis to be ranked that high. What makes us better than WKU or Arkansas State right now?
  3. If we could get Bum Phillips to speak that would get everybody's attention.
  4. Hey, Tuesday would be great, if somewhat ambitious! Anyone could make any sort of narrative out of this mess in the next two days gets my respect.
  5. A lot of us just don't have the reading speed and comprehension to figure them out the way you can.
  6. Dang, we need to play us one of them 3rd stringers. Just to be clear, I would have liked to see our 3rd string QB Saturday night, but am still not sure who that is. Oh, and the one thing I admired about June Jones was that he was willing to try out several quarterbacks. I'm still not convinced it helped much, but couldn't really hurt much either.
  7. Yeah, this is almost like trying to say we should have beaten somebody that Alabama beat, the year LA Monroe beat Alabama. I do agree with one thing somebody posted on the SMU board, like "college football is all about matchups". Our perceived strength (OL) was clearly overmatched by Texas' perceived strength (DL). At this point, I'm thinking to consider our DL our strength, which I certainly wouldn't have a week ago. I doubt I'll go to thinking QB play as our strength week after next.
  8. 93-98, to me the whole "Texas has been sucking lately" argument was to a large extent an accurate perception of the lack of discipline being enforced by the previous regime, probably to the extent that he did "lose the team". To me, they seem to have made the right hire, and "surprise, surprise, surprise", there is still plenty of talent down there, probably some of whom were glad to see the arrival of a new sheriff. Is anybody saying that Texas took the pedal off the gas last night, with the possible exception of letting time run out at the end with a minute or so left? To me, it would have indicated that Briles was trying to run up the score if he had gone for it instead of running that questionable FG kicker out there for what, 3 missed attempts? Of course, your kicking game needs work, but if the opponents fans are almost to a man saying that Baylor was "taking it easy", why shouldn't I believe them? Yeah, Baylor will be tough. I also think Texas will be tough.
  9. Grand, that's exactly what the SMU board was saying, even before half, that Baylor had already started taking it easy on them.
  10. I guess some people saw Matt Davis making "some" good plays, but I just came back to watching the game when he was basically going backward. I guess what I'm saying is that I don't see us having some excuses for laying an egg against SMU based on the "far superior" competition they've faced, or the "concerning" potential of Matt Davis. Hell, we've got to quit trying to say it's too much to expect that we could beat them. Honestly, I think we should beat them, and I'll be pissed at our coaching staff if we don't.
  11. Far superior? It was obvious that the Baylor starting QB was playing hurt, and nobody has claimed that the Texas front 7, which I don't think we got past for many plays, wasn't tough.
  12. LOL, Christopher!
  13. I don't think they'll cover the spread. This will kill our strength of schedule.
  14. I expected our offense to score twice, but I had no basis for that, given the unknowns in skill positions.
  15. Ok, you're crazy, but you may be right.
  16. Throwing the game? Is that what they're calling it now?
  17. What Rick just said. You aspiring pool sharks, learn this technique, know it, and use it to make money. Minnesota Fats is sneering somewhere.
  18. Yup. Voted it up.
  19. We have been cursed at QB, because we have never shown the love they need. Honestly, Daniel Meager's father was right, he should never have been benched, what, 2 weeks after doing everything against SMU but make a fantastic leaping catch of that high snap towards the end of the game?
  20. UH board meltdown last night; UNT board meltdown tonight, SMU board meltdown tomorrow night. Everybody gets their turn.
  21. I heard the name "Sir Calvin Wallace" called for something other than being a disappointment to the coaches. Recovered a fumble. We need him to contribute.
  22. I haven't taken I-35 to Austin since I realized US 281 was still in existence.
  23. Yup. Last year we blew some early opportunities for big plays against Georgia. Can't do that and win against the big programs.
