  1. I don't know what I find more strange; the Denia residents worried about Sack and Save closing, or Ben Gooding posting under his wife's facebook account on the recruiting forum. And hey, I'm ok with role reversals, and wouldn't object to some nice uniform chat.
  2. I was thinking about that, but didn't want to be the one to say so. And like you suggest, who knows why?
  3. This is sounding like potentially very good news.
  4. I couldn't help but thinking about last week listening to his post game after whatever loss, his saying "this is a really hard game", then thinking back to when he hired on, with him quoting his wife as saying, "you go places and fix things that are broken". And then he says, "but things aren't really broken here". So, maybe he's going through a process of breaking something bad enough where he can fix it? Hey, I just don't get it, except somewhere in the process of hiring him, RV said that he "is a friend". So, maybe he won't be gone next year.
  5. If we get him signed whenever national signing day is, I'll be thrilled with it.
  6. He doesn't hate bass so much, but loves treble more.
  7. Yes, we're a music school, not a basketball school.
  8. And that's just in the marching band; makes me wonder how many students they have overall.
  9. I like the hire, and in this case, don't mind his coming from a program that's so much better funded, because I've been reading for a long time about how that we have the facilities we need for the strength program. Honestly, if he had been the main guy in charge of S & C at Michigan, I would wonder why he hadn't gotten after Brady Hoke to shape up (in a physical sense that is).
  10. Good thought, and yes, I believe that someday our athletic programs will be spoken of as reverentially as our music programs. We're not there yet. When you're wanting to close a sale, you have to go with a salesman who's done it time and again, virtually anywhere in the World.
  11. I thought the PBS segment today was one of the best things UNT related I've heard for the last year. I liked using the band to promote it. Hey, creativity!
  12. Well, I hate this, but I think BYU has to be considered a very good football program. If anyone doubts it, ask Texas. Anyway, happy trails, Coach.
  13. Yes, he is. And yes, it would!
  14. It's just self defeating to think that we can't recruit Polynesian players to North Texas. And you don't have to "create" a giant Tongan population; there's one of the 3 or 4 largest Tongan communities in Texas within an hours drive of Denton when the traffic is bad. And they're talking about North Texas; is North Texas talking to them?
  15. Damn, I was thinking, "Lance would have caught that and protected the ball".
  16. I took that as a sign that the coaches trust Dunbar. And, notwithstanding the wish we all had for him to score the winning TD, and the fact that he didn't get credit for the catch (since the Cowboys obviously took the holding call for a first down), he was getting plenty of love on the sideline for keeping the drive going. I think his teammates and coaches see Dunbar for what he has become: a team first player.
  17. Wasn't that the organization in a Little Rascals (or was it "Our Gang") episode that self destructed?
  18. Yeah, we have to sell guys based on what we have; talk to them about academic programs and beautiful women.
  19. That's like ironic humor without the humor.
  20. I have heard that his basketball game is "fundamentally sound", but this would still be the wrong forum for that.
  21. Yeah, especially since we're the creative heart.
  22. I agree that this stinks, but I think a lot of us could see it coming. I see the priorities for our remaining available scholarships as 1. DT, 2. DE, 3. OT. That and hoping we develop the hell out of anyone we redshirted (Tuaalo) or played in limited roles (Tillman Johnson?) last year, Also, I agree with others that Sid (Syd) Moore can be a good one for us, but he needs to learn enough discipline not to get thrown out of games like he did at UTEP. Oh, and another thing: our offense needs to come up big for 2015, both in putting up points and sustaining drives. I'm not sure we'll have a defense that we'll want staying out there too much.
  23. I'm just wondering if it might be a better idea for Emmitt to post one of his many pictures of Ford Stadium on game day.
  24. Dude, Dunbar was playing out of his mind that day. If I recall, Dunbar WAS our offense that day. I'm not sure we had a healthy scholarship quarterback by that point. But, the whole day was just a foot race, and a day that defensive coaches all want to forget. When are we getting Kansas State in Denton again?
