This has to be the poorest encouragement for reading comprehension ever.

I was standing next to some really cute girl tonight, can't remember whether UNT or SMU fan, seemed like she let one of those silent-but-deadly things slip out. I still thought she was really cute. Now the offensive part of our game tonight? Smelled bad, looked bad. I'm gllad I had to take the train home so that I missed the post game show, with Coach Mac, as I understand, calling it "disappointing". Hell, "disappointing" is something that you can hopefully learn something from.

Well, you make a real good point; except that, as I recall, we got three turnovers early, for a total of 6 points. How disheartening that must be for the special teams and defensive players who put our offense in such a good position. The playcalling just gives ultraconservatism a bad name.

Oh damn, now you've answered a question I was afraid to ask. You've confirmed that this was on TV.

Its time to Fire RV, Canales and maybe Mac

1. to fuse into one entity; merge: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/conflate Sorry for the fifty cent word. It's something geographers tend to use.

Conflating the FU's?

Hey, there may be an opening in 2021!

There's a message in here somewhere, like not taking any game for granted this year.

Are you sure we shouldn't be checking out what those River City Vikings are dishing out to the Pirate of the Palouse?

We're talkin' about practice.

I think Yahoo is now asking the same question. Oh well, now they have some data. We have questions.
-
Well, there wasn't much to say, and they didn't say much.

Lance Dunbar: ‘I will never forget where I came from’
eulessismore replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
The article was about Katrina and its immediate aftermath, which for him was in Haltom City, for one thing. For another, the guy has continued to show up in Denton to support us, and has been quoted as saying that if he were to go into coaching, he'd want to do it at North Texas. And I hope he gets the chance. -
Worst attempt at playing music I have seen on the campus of any university with the words "North Texas" as part of its name was by this bunch. And are the uniforms an attempt by some in the Alamo City to honor Santa Anna? Anyone thinking this is good has never spent any time or effort at learning, practicing, playing or seriously listening to music. No, I didn't click on the link; I saw (and definitely heard) all I needed to at Apogee Stadium year before last. Or maybe Silver is saying the music doesn't matter, it's, it's, it's...what?. Weird stuff here. Maybe fall camp will start at some point. Our coaches, team, athletic department, and fan base were woefully underwhelming that day, but to have to put with this and have it praised by one of fans? This is like having to eat crow, and having your friends stand around praising the chef.

Hey man, I sure miss you! Have a happy.

R.I.P. B.B. King
eulessismore replied to FirefightnRick's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
The best live music memory I have is walking into the Texas International Pop Festival in 1969 and hearing B.B. King singing his breakthrough hit, "The Thrill is Gone". The guys who put that festival together in little old Denton County (Angus Wynne was one) knew how to put the right musicians on stage. http://www.dallasnews.com/entertainment/headlines/20110923-dossier-dallas-angus-wynne-failed-upward-into-pop-music-history.ece -
Erick Evans talks about decision to transfer, Boise
eulessismore replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I was thinking last season that he wasn't getting any touches after he fumbled in the UAB game, and it doesn't appear that he did. Other than that one mistake, I thought he was exciting to watch, and more important, productive when he was on the field. I think he'll do well somewhere; that kind of speed is hard to find.- 12 replies

Posted Today, 08:46 PM Harry, on 20 Apr 2015 - 7:34 PM, said: Ah...I was wondering the same thing. The whole history of the quarterback position seems strange (to me) under the present coaching staff, starting with the first Juco transfer we brought in (sorry, can't remember his name right now). It seemed like nobody had moved the ball period against Alabama the first year he came in, then the guy came in, got us down to the red zone, then got pulled. I've just wondered if there's some Hotel California doghouse for quarterbacks here, where "you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave" (apologies to Glenn Frey and Don Henley)? And, my understanding of Coach Mac, from knowing one of his high school teachers, was that he was no paragon of respect for authority back there in Iowa City. Maybe that "DW speech" that Kram wrote could be started out with something like, "I know what it's like".

UNT 2015 Spring game in review
eulessismore replied to Brett Vito's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
One of the favorite quotes I've heard attributed to Darrell Royal is "A confused team can't play aggressively". -
I actually think Slinker has a great job as Athletic Director for the Hockaday School, probably the highest profile private girls school in this area. Plus, I think she's already got that second job with her speaking engagements. I d think we have a part in her motivational speaking narrative, as one of the setbacks she overcame.

Man, what a blast from the past! Those basketball games were a lot of fun to watch. Unlike the football games at the time, with about half the "home" games being at old Texas Stadium, the basketball games were a short walk for some great sports viewing, and many of the professors in my department "encouraged' attendance. Not that it was all that hard of a sell.
