Yeah, thank God that it sounds like he'll be ok. Don't they usually drape some kind of padding for locations in a stadium like that?

I just looked up his Wikipedia page, and have to consider it weird that he's married to Kate Golding, granddaughter of the old Wichita Falls High School coaching legend Joe Golding. She may know a few things about running the single wing (or wildcat, whatever) offense. I'd say he probably knows a few things about the state of Texas. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonny_Dykes

Maybe we should have tried alliteration.

Well, that might make the running game more important. I love me some Jeffrey Wilson, but dread Ken Dixon.

UNT Coaching Candidate Chris Thomsen
eulessismore replied to StealthEagle84's topic in Mean Green Football
Well, yeah. I think that may be at least a part of why some DII schools have better talent than some FBS schools, yes UNT. We need to look at the academic side of his players' careers as well as athletic. It may not have been a factor there, but at least suggests that due diligence is warranted. -

Hey, SMU only has 1 win, but it's a quality win, baby!
-
Maybe he could help us work out a home and home with Hawaii. I've been thinking we need to start recruiting the islands, or at least Euless.
-
Yeah, that's the way I remember him, making something like a 90 yard play out of a little screen pass. I do agree that the big problem is, Jeffrey Wilson came along, and the situation for the coaches right now is they have to show as much success on the field for the rest of the season as possible, to help in getting whatever their next job is (although I think one or more may stick, no matter how clean a sweep is being discussed here). It does remind me of what our longtime and successful high school coach here in Euless, Steve Lineweaver said once, that "colleges aren't charitable institutions".

Hope this takes a little sting out of the final score

Good luck the rest of the way. I think y'all have put a program together the right way. -
What's scaring me about this process
eulessismore replied to BillySee58's topic in Mean Green Football
What scares me about this process is that it doesn't sound like a process a professional in any endeavor would wish to engage. I mean, the President won't give the AD a public vote of confidence when asked, and says he will be involved in the process (as he should be), but this would just leave a lot of people wondering "who's really in charge" and "do I want to expose myself and my family to what appears to be dysfunctional, when the reason I'm being considered is that my star is on the rise"? Unless, as you suggest, and I suspect, that those likely to be considered are not rising stars, but those in the twilight of "some success", and whose proximity to Denton has mostly to do with DFW Airport or the main lanes of Interstate 35. -
MGB: Monday night coach search update

Just from reading the article, it really looked the risk to reward wasn't in our favor. -
Does UNT win one road game this season?

Yes, we win one. No, I don't know who we beat -
Everitt Withers Bio and College Gameday Footage
eulessismore replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Well, his team beat SMU this year, so there is that. And it indicates he has been to Texas. However, the lack of even one Texan on their roster makes me wonder if he's just someone with a great resume and there's no real reason to think he's a good fit for this position. We haven't had that much Texas presence on our coaching staff recently, so maybe that's not perceived as a real factor. -
Jeez, could someone change the title of this thread? UTKFC didn't get anything but a sad bus ride home.

And then it was Halloween. As for me, I was wearing a green, while, and black UNT hoodie, autographed in black by Lance Dunbar. Not to brag or anything.

Well, I was sure thinking about you as things were setting up to work out just as you said. I knew you wouldn't care that the point totals were different, and I'd knew you'd feel good about getting the spread right. Hey, you're still good; very good. The blocked extra point return was the key to the whole thing.

Post UT - SA win message from DaMarcus to the fans

This guy will end up being a great ambassador for our nation. -
No love for CQ here, but at least he's got something right. I mean, if you're supposedly supporting an institution of learning, learn to have something to say.

Oh, and congratulations to your team for such a good imitation of "The Walking Dead" as they went into shock after the returned xp attempt, leading up to a very quiet shuffle off the field at the end. It was good to see them feeling bad.
-
Nothing about this win affects anything that happens after it. It was one game, although one with the sweetness of seeing the team dressed in while looking so disparaged as they shuffled off in disbelief. And no, despite whatever anyone is saying on your forum, it won't cost Larry Coker his. As UNT90 said, "get used to the losing".

You do us proud, man.

Thank you tailgaters, players, coaches,

Honestly, that had nothing to do with on field results.
