It may have just been the hype surrounding the Miami Dolphins' "Wildcat" (variant of old single wing) making me think this, but last night, when I was watching Euless Trinity and Justin Northwest play, with Northwest using the spread as their base, then adding one or two tight ends for short yardage, those tight end sets reminded me of the single wing look (btw, that's the offense I first saw, watching the Wichita Falls Coyotes, under Joe Golden).

QUOTE(eulessismore @ Nov 1 2008, 11:16 PM) Dollar shots? How much are the table dances? Dang, those are good prices! Reminds me of the old days at the Fort Worth Cellar; I think it was Wednesday nights when the local college girls would dance topless just for the fun of it.

Hey, I don't have a dog in that fight!

Hey man, if there's anyone who could make crow taste "special", it's you!

I just finished watching the sports on Channel 11. They, saved the best for last; Tobe's interception return for the touchdown, followed by the end zone celebration!

I think you have made a great point!

No, he lost a lot early on, but usually in close games. Hayden Fry's start at SMU

Maybe it will all work out well for them after all. I still don't think he'll be of much help to North Texas football.

Anyone wishing we had a Boone Pickens hasn't been keeping up with what happened at Oklahoma State.

I don't know that much about elephant behavior, but for donkeys and their kin, its all about motivation. If a donkey decides not to do something, there's no way to change its mind.

Dang! I was right there where the cookies were and didn't eat one.

So, what about that alleged overabundance of tight ends we had? Will any of them have remaining eligibility next year. If so, we should use them. Speed shouldn't be that big a deal; we've been throwing a lot of short passes.

Hey this hoarding thing is getting out of hand. The federal government hands out cash to banks, the banks line the walls of their vault with it; President Bush, someone I've never considered antibanker, comes out yesterday telling them they're supposed to use the money to make loans. Is Dodge hoarding players for the future? He and Riley visited with Bush once, maybe bush could call Dodge, tell him, "hey, play those recruits".

It may have been on a play shortly before that, when Youri Yenga, All-State Defensive MVP for Trinity (now playing for SMU), leaped over some Southlake Blockers and landed on top of Riley.
-
Mr Vito does your bidding. Consider it done.
-
I think he received that 2006 concussion in the game against Euless Trinity. Southlake won in the last minute or two on a Riley scramble, but I don't think he was fully aware of what was going on.

Ask your sources, they're never wrong.

I've noticed that, and it seems a bit weird; maybe it's the expectations that winning programs create. Yes, I wish we had expectations of winning big.

Well, let me see if anyone else detects a pattern. A certain poster who had previously been irritating a lot of parents by using what may have been information from an athletic department staff member to encourage speculation about player injuries stopped posting around the last of September this year, so was perhaps suspended by one of the board admins. Another poster (or the same poster with a different screen name) showed up around the first of October this year, and had a very similar style and content (lots of name dropping; appearance of possible inside connections, etc). That member posted what he/she said was from reliable sources about a lot of mistreatment of UNT football players by Dodge, including making them take "piss tests". A board admin posts that the members "sources" contradict the facts of the post, immediately locks the thread, announces that the member has been given a "vacation", and, at some point, deletes the thread. A day or two later, Vito posts the story about the drug testing, positive results, and Dodge's response to his questions. The first mentioned poster, who had begun posting again sometime around September 20 this year, started posting in a BIG way in the numerous drug testing related threats, basically slamming everyone on the staff who is in any way associated with the football program, from RV down, as well as the head coach's son. As a reaction to his posts, other members begin defending Dodge who have not lately. So, not to sound like some conspiracy theorist. is it possible that the first poster, once having been suspended from the board, began posting under the second name, got off the suspension for the first name sometime around September 20, and then began posting under both names until October 26, or thereabouts. That could have been when, posting under the second name, he made the post about the piss tests, and was suspended by the board admin. Through that, or by making subsequent "leaks" to Vito, he may have gotten the story out concerning the drug testing. All that having been made public, he would still have the original screen name (the one which he used when he began encouraging speculation about player injuries-some of which was followed up by Vito in his blog). So, using that original screen name, is it possible he has since, been making posts all over the board, using his own release of information about an internal (up to that point) drug testing program, to slam the UNT football coaches, and some players, and, ironically, about their "unprofessional" handling of this information? Just wondering, because there seems like a lot of irrational exuberance on his part over a rather sad situation, no matter how you spin it.

That takes a lot of courage and wisdom on your part PHS, both supporting Dodge in his substance abuse policy, and pointing out that only harm can come from calling out players by name on this. TheTastyGreek pointed out this morning that no good could come of such speculation, and you've now added the credibility that only a parent can. Let's all remember that there's something bigger than football going on here; the futures of young men hang in the balance. Some of them have certainly made mistakes in this. If some of us feel that they shouldn't get the second chance, we should look back on our own lives and ask whether we didn't get that benefit at times when we could have been dealt with more harshly. This is in no way of condoning drug or alcohol abuse. I could tell you some hair raising stories of people I knew during my life, and certainly during the time I was a student at North Texas, that would make your hair stand on end. Some of them died well before they should have. I do think there are times when those who have made bad decisions can turn their lives around; and I certainly hope that is the case with these young men. It can make a lot of difference if substance abusers can have the support they need from those who care about them, and want them to do better. There are always people out there willing to get high or drunk with them. If you think the actual offenders are not being punished, I would suggest that those of them who do care about those around them will become aware of the extent they have let down those who were counting on them. If that doesn't bother them now, it probably will later on.

Yes, he will, but not here, and not for the kind of pay cut that would mean.

Hey, a big thanks to you and the rest of the student body; it was really forward thinking of y'all!

Everyone gets some of that cake you had for the Lousisiana Lafayette game! Everyone who brings their robot lover gets a free blow-up girl! -
Welcome to the Mean Green Nation, gsufanatic. One thing we really need help with here is special teams. Do you thing that Keith Hatcher at GSU would be a good ST hire for us?
