  1. I voted "no", but almost immediately regretted not voting "pie", and wished I could change my vote...I'm just another flipflopper, dadgummit! Has anyone here ever been to the Pie Peddlars in Glen Rose? I went in there Friday; ate pie and took pie with me; on Saturday, my wife went in and made me stay in the car and await my "surprise", which was cherry-rhubarb pie. My favorite from there? As always, as anywhere else, pecan.
  2. I'm thinking you're talking the Euless Trinity Trojans. Yes, they were big; honestly though, I've begun to wonder if Coach Lineweaver wasn't just bringing out the best in these guys. Most of them in 2005 were of Tongan (South Pacific Islander) descent. Many of the Tongans are just naturally big; we did have a particularly good O-line for Trinity that year.
  3. Yeah, there aren't that many of us who can get by on our looks!
  4. Damn, I do not like to hear this! Get well, Tevinn!
  5. Brother, you got that right! Maybe that could be our next gripe; no local newspaper!
  6. Texas Wesleyan has a law school, they're passing us by!
  7. Ok, having read "Real Enemies", I'm convinced there was enough truth in the "underlying causes" to keep the controversy alive. I'm just suggesting that book as a good read, in part because it attacks both sides in many of our favorite conspiracy theories, and is probably now available for checkout at our local library. As far as looking at anything from Hitler's viewpoint, for some reason I picked up Mein Kampf at a Barnes and Noble last week, read a page at random, and was more convinced than ever he was determined to conquer, enslave, and racially "purify" it entirely. My relatives who died fighting for the U.S.A. in WWII were fighting for the right side and for our national survival.
  8. Well that kind of money would look GOOD!
  9. I had the privilege of sitting next to Collin Dennis' mother at the Super Pit on Seniors' Night this year. She's a classy lady, and must be Collin's number one fan! I think Collin's little brother will be going to Memphis next year. Best of Luck to the Dennis family in all they do!
  10. It's up to y'all to make us look good now!
  11. You are both correct on that one! He could have saved us from remembering so much special teams futility this last year.
  12. Eulesseagle, it was Japan who attached us at Pearl Harbor; then a few days later, it was Germany who declared war on us. All this stuff is gone over (and it's always being gone over and over) in a recent book, "Real Enemies". I checked it back in to the Euless Library tonight; you can probably check it out and go over those issues yet again.
  13. Am I missing something here? Who said Cantly can't play? I couldn't care less what Vito looks like; I would seriously disagree with anyone saying Cantly can't play football, based on everything else I have read and heard about him from people who know him and are familiar with him as a football player.
  14. Hard to resist some juvenile humor with that.
  15. Maybe that just means he's faster than our taller guys, and getting open. If we want to report height, don't we have a couple of tall tight ends? Bryant Seidle is one with experience; the true freshman, Fitzgerald, is tall, as I recall. Or, maybe, the coaching staff just decided to start reporting receivers' heights as less than they actually are, to make our opponents overconfident.
  16. There was a saying, I heard it was from New York State in the early years of the Republic, but I'm not sure, to the effect that, "No man's freedom or property are safe when the legislature is in session". Although, a Democrat, I agree with that sentiment (feel that way about legislators of either party), and for state as well as national legislation; except of course that I would like legislation favorable to UNT passed by the State of Texas.
  17. Wow, he only has nine more wins to catch Bill Blakeley? Keep this guy!
  18. I have to agree with you. However, a couple of things: (1.)I'm doing somewhat better now financially than in the past, so hope to do better, though still in a modest way, (2.) I'm thinking what you mentioned about Dickey's payout may have been based on what the facts were at the time we hired Dodge. How much longer will we be paying off Dickey?
  19. To provide material for conspiracy minded internet posters, so they don't always have to talk about parameters which are not publicized, such as head size?
  20. Thanks, I fixed it. And I like Whataburger better anyway!
  21. Every time I talk to anyone who's outside the UNT community of students and alumni about Casey, I talk about how he kept working at Whataburger after he went on scholarship.
  22. Tutoring Chevy Bennett on taking admissions tests.
  23. Finally, we have a prophet! We are not worthy!
  24. Why? If ever a thread needed jacking, it was this one
  25. Pretty noisy contingent too!
