  1. May Coach Gansz find healing and recovery; I know he's a "special" one!
  2. I talked to his mother at the Seniors Game. She's about to retire from the airlines and was preparing to acquire timeshares in Memphis to see him, and Italy to see Collin (flying standby, I'm sure), so, home can come to him.
  3. There's drugs that make people like to talk. I don't know how cruel or unusual inflicting them on people would be, since people I knew in college days inflicted them on themselves.
  4. I've got to agree with you on this one eulesseagle; why can't men (I can understand the young, peer pressured guy whose "friends" would make fun of him for going out with someone they don't perceive as "good looking") see what good there may be in women who are not conventional beauties. Have the fashionistas convinced us all that the anorexic look is what we all want? And talk about courage; it took some for her to perform like that with an audience laughing at her. I guess we should pretend Kate Smith, Big Mama Thornton, Janis Joplin, Mama Cass and so many female vocalists of size were considered beauties in their day.
  5. We've already had that conversation, and some folks from Boston turned out to be pecan pie haters...I just don't get it.
  6. No, it sounds like he's only brought discredit on his point of view. Maybe he's actually helped our cause by trying to oppose it.
  7. Expects to be memory champ! Check this guy out!
  8. We now have a "German Deli" on the way to Denton from here; if they're still in business by then, I'll bring some of the best dogs they have to offer.
  9. And my wife and I gladly PAY (as we are also willing to do for North Texas athletic events) to drive to Denton from Euless and see musical performances at the Murchison. This fellow is not only interested in killing any chance of improving the North Texas football program, he's piling on by completely disrespecting the already world class College of Music. Really, this sounds like a guy who spent a thousand dollars to tear down a great institution, for the sake of building up his own sense of superiority, based on...being an Auburn alum?
  10. I'm down for it; I love those things. How can I help?
  11. Since he'll likely be challenged in the Republican primary for the next governor's race by Kay Bailey Hutchison, I see most of what he'll be doing as trying to firm up his support by the Republican base. Maybe he's hoping they'll forget the proposed mandatory HPV vaccination and the Trans Texas Corridor.
  12. It seems like we could, for one thing, be happy this particular incident turned out as well as it did, whether or not it reflects one way or the other on President Obama and, for another, support the position of the Maersk Alabama crew member who called on the President to work with the international community to end the piracy threat.
  13. Maybe they just didn't want to hang around until tax day.
  14. I'm kind of neutral on how to take this, but have considered a couple of possibilities other than plans for a North Texas qb under center: 1. What you said. 2. The offense needs to provide the defense some practice against it, since more Sun Belt schools, including Troy and WKU are reported to be incorporating it. Even considering the above possibilities, I see the practice under center as a good thing. Even if it is intended as deception, deception is a good thing, and it provides some potential for using it; you don't want to try it for the first time in a game situation.
  15. I did not even think about that in my reply, UNT90; reading your post just gave me a chill that is hard to explain. I think I'll call my some of my family who are still up in Wichita Falls; such anniversaries can be a little tough to take sometimes.
  16. My heart goes out to y'all. I'm originally from Wichita Falls, Texas and the surrounding area, and have had several family members survive tornadoes that hit their houses (one sister has had two houses blown away while she was in them); fortunately only property damage, but others there have been much less fortunate. I think one lesson that's been learned from studying the tornado of 1979 there is: don't leave a building to get in a car during a tornado.
  17. They could just leave the tailgating where it is, and have those larger golf carts like they do at DFW Airport taking the less able and more inebriated to the stadium entrance, with all others having to plan far enough in advance to allow extra time to walk over that bridge (I know, I know, I'm not all that punctual, but I may have to change).
  18. If the guys doing the announcing at Euless Trinity football games can pronounce the names of our Tongan football players, anybody should be able to pronounce anything
  19. This validates my theory that if you go far enough right, you meet up with those coming from the far left.
  20. I think you're right, and that my "friend of a friend of the family", Tevinn Cantly, will have a lot to do with it.
  21. I thought we had a highly regarded punter (who can also kick) out of high school who will be here in August.
  22. Yeah, I was kind of disappointed with the lack of TE sets.
  23. I'm in favor of anything that will keep the stadium noise in the stadium and the outside noise outside the stadium!
  24. And I'm sorry to have missed you. Also, a big shout out to Quoner, Filmerj, and any other tailgating friends I can't think of right now. We'll meet up again soon, I hope!
  25. Hey, I've just got to mention how much I enjoyed tailgating once again with The Tasty Greek, Marleta (sp?), Gomeangreen1999, and Lazer, as well as for the first time with Meanmag and 97and03 (sp?). I do appreciate you guys treating me and Arlene to a burger and sharing my birthday cake with me. I must say (and yes, I do have a minor in music from UNT) that it seemed completely strange to attend an event at North Texas with no live music!
