  1. It's hard to say, but I'll try: 1. I think Tobe has about run the gamut of what to do/not do during interception runbacks, but maybe he could practice just running away from the opposing quarterback. Nah. 2. Maybe have Knotts and Atterberry split time on practicing long field goals, or have a kicking consultant come in and spend time with the kickers during our bye week, sort of "kung fu kicking"...oh wait, that guy's dead. I think it's reasonable to think we could have scored another 7 points. On the positive side, the game did reveal a few things we need more work on. I was kind of wondering at the end though; although we made some mistakes, we played with passion. Maybe there's some key in there; don't dwell on negatives, just learn from mistakes?
  2. Wasn't this in Boise? They should just turn the whole thing over to the local criminal justice system there. My wife has family there, and I assure you, local law enforcement in Boise does not play.
  3. I never knew what a "snuggie" was til last night!
  4. How about 28,001?
  5. Man, I'll take the heat for being an environmentalist; recycling is good (even Brett Vito said so in his column).
  6. Glad you're not all lumpy!
  7. I gotta wear shades.
  8. Man, Sun Belt success is our success, for now anyway.
  9. just before the BSU kicker shanked the chip shot late FG attempt. I think the look on Stan Parrish's face basically said, "we ain't winning this game". Hey, we didn't block it, but they missed; maybe it was just the thought of a small group of people traveling all that way and still being heard on national TV that distracted the kicker. Honestly, I did think they had great crowd noise there. I'm not sure I've ever heard a "block that kick" yell at Fouts. I'm so looking forward to a stadium where the sound doesn't "get lost".
  10. The man does say a good prayer.
  11. Honestly, I think your post slamming the Scrappy bashing was the turning point. That guy really was over the line, or pylon, whatever.
  12. I don't think it's well understood that Dodge (and many other "spread" coaches as well) prefer to run the ball close to 50% of the time; he mentioned once after coming to UNT that he hoped to get closer to that.
  13. Thanks for the invite! I've always enjoyed your posts.
  14. Well, I know it may not sound like much, but I made a purchase Wednesday night that I won't regret: my first season tickets, ever. I figured I should buy them before tonight's game, in case we lost and negative thinking started creeping in. It was certainly enjoyable last year, getting to know the people I tailgated and watched games with; Tasty, Quoner, gomeangreen1999, filmerj, oldguystudent, Lazer and others. I certainly look forward to this years's games. Yes, I actually expect to watch us win some home games this year!
  15. Dude! I decided to just go ahead and turn to Channel 5; unfortunately the early part showed a picture of Dirk's ex girlfriend! OT, I know, but does he realize he's an NBA basketball player and could get some girls? Just wait till the sports, please!
  16. You DID post the best prayer, filmerj; Tasty had the best motivational post in defense of Scrappy!
  17. Outlaw! That's what I'm talking about!
  18. crap; well, we can still pull it out. gotta get out of that shell we went into.
  19. I've missed a few plays, but am wondering, have we gotten any real pressure on the qb yet?
  20. So, got5onit, did you take those points?
  21. The title was Vito's, that's why I quoted it. I think he called it faith, based on the movement of the line. Honestly, based on our defensive record of the last few years and Ball State's recent record, Joe Public putting that money on us even with the points might be "faith" on their part.
  22. Yeah, like "have some faith, even if you don't wager"!
  23. I thought this showed some interesting insight from Vito's Blog; the line has been dropping in the last few days, from 23.5 to 16.5 as of this post and related comments: Mean Green love from betters! Having married into an LDS family, I thought the following comment was hilarious! Posted by Mr Positive @ 1:05 AM Wed, Sep 02, 2009 Not that I wager, but I sent 200 bucks to Vegas to bet this game at 17.5. By the time my buddy got there, Vegas was offering 16.5. I cut my wager to 100. BTW, my Boise buddy, a hardcore LDS guy, decided my passion was worth $25 of his dollars. Money is flowing to NT.
  24. I wish PHSCoach would comment on this; he provided some usual perspective in the discussion about getting a medical redshirt for Joe Miller. It's almost like you have to subscribe to NCAA Online at "the premium level" to even read all the rules. I'm sure this sounds cynical, but I think the NCAA intentionally keeps the eligibility criteria as mysterious as possible. Almost like the U.S. Congress, only with a plan.
  25. Hey, Cooley's back. Cool!
