Here's the link to the weather underground. My manager says this is the best internet site for weather, and I agree. Weather underground I put in the zip code for Euless, but that's probably close enough. You can change the zip. Unfortunately, this looks like a pretty big system, so it will be all over this area. Hopefully, there will be enough of a cold front, and at the right time, to clear all this out. Folks, let's not let a few Texas rainstorms slow us down! Lightning, another story.

It hasn't been updated since August 11, 2009. Slackers. Bottom 10 from espn site

You ever see one of those mother-daughter pairs where they're both missing the same tooth? Honestly, I had some next door neightbors (yes, next door to me here in Euless), where mom and daughter were like that. I told our manager about it, and he said, "I'm putting their weight between 250 and 300 pounds each". He's good at guessing weight, sight unseen.

Yeah, those guys looked pretty good for a unit that was so suspect. I think we will see more player evaluation and adjustments along the D-line during the season. I did like one thing; their quarterback, apparently with good mobility, wasn't breaking the long runs like we started giving up early on last year.

I'm surprised, that with all the expertise in weather and climate on this board, any of you take a four-day weather forecast all that seriously. At that North Texas Geography Department, over thirty years ago, they taught us that any more than 3 days was just a guess; it hasn't improved. Just for example, yesterday, rain was forecast for today and tomorrow, then removed by this morning. If they can't forecast 1 or 2 days out any better, why worry about 4. Trying to keep your lawn alive? Honestly, keep watering.

Yes, great stuff!

Why I Want Todd Dodge To Succeed
eulessismore replied to Zeleny' Orel's topic in Mean Green Football
Sorry to be so obtuse. However, I have mostly excellent memories about sports during my undergrad years at North Texas, in the late 70's. I guess it was easy enough in the years of Hayden Fry and Bill Blakeley (yeah I started out as more a basketball fan). I followed them more sporadically until a couple of years ago. Yes, I was among those who started coming around after the Dodge hire. So, maybe I don't automatically understand that a reference to our unique culture as something of an anti-sports vendetta, rather than a positive aspect of what I consider a great school. If you want everyone to intuitively understand the negative uniqueness references, it would seem that as more of the previously noninvolved with North Texas sports come around (swelling the real numbers in the stands for home games, the less likelihood there is of even GMG.com members understanding vague (to me, anyway) references to the miserable past and its cultural undesirability. Maybe that will be the positive change you seek. No, not a blind follower of the Dodges, just someone who's bought his first season tickets (yes, before the Ball State game), and thinks that we have a bright future in all aspects of our University's life, yes, football and other sports included. -
Why I Want Todd Dodge To Succeed
eulessismore replied to Zeleny' Orel's topic in Mean Green Football
Kinda confusing, but I'll take it to mean you want our unique culture to go away. Why, what's wrong with a great music school, that's an improving academic school, and on the verge of athletic greatness. Can't we all just get along? -
I went with Craig Robertson; he plays consistently at a high level, not spectacular, but seems to provide a quiet leadership by showing how it's done.

People here are doing a fine job of convincing me not to watch Channel 5; true, they did cover our win over BSU, but I changed channels too soon and saw that picture of Dirk's ex girlfriend. Now, I'll have to start drinking again to get rid of THAT visual. Watching ill-named sports smack talkers? Please, if I needed hate, I'd follow politics more closely.

Video Of U S A S First Game / First Win

So, what's the key, only show in town? -
Um, who is "Newy Scruggs" (I guess someone stayed up all night thinking of that name anyway), what is "Out of Bounds", and why does it matter?

uh, what does a white trash flag look like?

Ragin' Cajuns Set Attendance Record
eulessismore replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
I think we held up our end of the deal pretty well the last time we played SMU. There were probably more of us than there were of them; maybe that's why they don't like playing us. I think the real difference is passion; Louisiana fans have it, SMU fans (such as there are) have been losing it; I think UNT is getting it. If we win half our games this year, I think we'll see Fouts regularly filled except for the end zones. We might even fill those for Army (I think we did for Navy). -
Ragin' Cajuns Set Attendance Record
eulessismore replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
So, that attendance wasn't just butts in seats; it was also asses on grass. I love the combination of cold beer and grass seating; hey, when you get drunk and pass out, you're already on the ground. Gravity is not a problem. And when you wake up and see fireworks, you know it's almost time to go home. -
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I just checked, and LaLa beat "Southern", and Arky State beat "Mississippi Valley"; everyone else who played lost, except us, of course. First week Sunbelt scores and schedule.
-
Uh, yes, I believe that would be correct (I've married into an LDS family, and yes, was reminded that BYU was in town).

If we could or would run up the score on one team, it would be the Hillchoppers (a name I just invented for those from coal mining states, with their "hilltop removal" practice). What purpose was there in being as rude as they were the last time they were in Denton?

What Up With The Startlegram?
eulessismore replied to Mean Green 93-98's topic in Mean Green Football
I've been thinking for a while now that we should just consider ourselves lucky to have Brett Vito and the DRC, as bitter a pill as that is to swallow. This is just an era of cutting back on reporters, and Denton having its own newspaper (even with the Belo owership) is probably our saving grace on getting any print media coverage. -
Thank goodness we don't torture.

I like the kneeldown at the end. That's the way our local high school coach, Steve Lineweaver handles a situation like that. Not only does it give the perception of class, but it's "safer" in my opinion. Lots of bad things can happen when a play is actually run from scrimmage; turnover run back for a score, injury, etc. Just a good idea, in my opinion, to take the "w" and go to the house.

I hear what you're saying man; I love a fine woman of a certain age...maybe because I'm of that certain age myself. But Fouts, yeah I'll be glad to see it, but I'll never learn to love that sound sucking aspect.
