  1. So, now I guess we'll all have to wonder what that "bizarre behavior" was...
  2. If he was yelling while we were on offense, the alumni will claim it was a student.
  3. Yeah, couldn't you at least help send a kid to music school?
  4. I'll disagree with that; other than Alabama (and nobody's running on them, as far as I know), our running game has been working very well this year, excellent even in a couple of losing efforts.
  5. Man that is rough stuff; yeah, I love it!
  6. Well that's good; it was going to make for a long week for NT03.
  7. Dang, you're good tonight. I'll have one of whatever you're drinking.
  8. I was responding to someone who had posted that they ARE rapidly gaining on us. If you think we've already lost to those yokels without anything happening on the field, that's your choice.
  9. #5 The guy who announces their home games sounds like a hillbilly on steroids; or is it meth?
  10. I guess some of us are still trying to figure this one out: how do you gain ground without winning?
  11. Dude, thanks for waiting until I wasn't drinking anything before posting that!
  12. Give to another favorite charity; there's lots of folks out there needing real help.
  13. Well, I have started questioning the "it's the assistants" theory, or is it "make a few more changes in the assistant coaches, reshuffle them", whatever, after I read about him taking the blame for the Shotgun run on the 4th and 1 in the first half. I can see it being a head coaching decision on whether to go for it, but shouldn't he leave the call on the play (at that point anyway) to the oc? I am now starting to fear that Dodge has had an increasing tendency to micromanage. Maybe it's a reaction to stress, but I think he has enough things to manage (when to call time outs, etc), without calling such plays as that.
  14. I'm kinda conflicted; I was hoping people would post hating on WKU, but I like what you posted.
  15. Well, for one thing, I would give the assistant coaches a chance to apply for the job, rather than ONLY interviewing people from the outside, and then as usual, have all the assistants fired (that might happen anyway, but why assume as much).
  16. There's nothing I hate worse than that: someone to come in and play "harass the host". That's one of two lines I remember out of "Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf". I won't mention the other one on this "family forum".
  17. Let's make it $850,000. New Mexico paid $750,000, and all they have done so far is no wins, a sexual harassment lawsuit (settled-aren't they all?), and him coming out of a one game suspension for hitting an assistant coach, just in the first year of a six year contract. All I'm really saying is, let's be careful what we ask for. More money, and just any old hire for a new head coach and we could be right back where we started from, maybe worse.
  18. 1. They celebrated early in the first game they played at Fouts by doing the "grenade" in our end zone when they scored the first touchdown of the game. I'm sure we have learned not to celebrate early by this time!
  19. Even with Riley healthy, and honestly, it's hard for me to think he'll be anywhere near 100% next week, I'd love to see Tune continue to get significant playing time. I think the teams, like Troy, that bring in a different quarterback (yes, early in the game), make themselves a little harder to defend.
  20. You're exactly right about that! I was just thinking about that, then decided to go along with the crowd and post something cynical. If I've come to expect someone from the Dodge years to show up playing on Sunday afternoon, it's Dunbar.
  21. So, if the thing is to post something positive...I'll try: We're not in the first year of a six year contract paying Mike Locksley $750,000 per year like New Mexico.
  22. It seems really disheartening (to me anyway) to see the special teams problems we've had in the last couple of weeks. Hey, not trying to point fingers at any particular person, since it takes a lot of different personnel to make a kicking game work, and honestly, a lot of teams have been getting kicks blocked this year. Granted, Cody is a man mountain out there, as our guys found out in Tuscaloosa, but don't we have someone on the team who is listed as 6'6" or more (don't remember who off hand). I'd just like to see something tried like putting someone really tall in there and have THE MEAN GREEN block a kick (I do appreciate what Eddrick Gilmore has done, but we need more of this). And while I'm at it, why aren't we experimenting with using Shavod Atkinsson(sp?) on short yardage plays. I know, they'll know what they're up to, but at some point a team has to do something everyone knows they're going to try, and make it work anyway. Just a little creative use of personnel, that's all I'm suggesting. What is it the University of Richmond (a FCS school, I know) calls what is done on special teams at time, a "Despo" squad?
  23. You think maybe he's hurrying the punt, seeing that the rush is getting past our blockers?
  24. I was asking myself that at some point yesterday afternoon; it does seem like SOMETHING that could get figured out and fixed. I see it as kind of a twist of the knife from a self inflicted wound.
  25. I don't really pretend to know enough to take a stab at answering a question worded like that, but, if I'm physically able, I'll be in Denton next Saturday to watch UNT take on the hated WKU.
