  1. +1, and after his what, 2nd or 3rd sack, I was also wondering if we couldn't come up with some answer for #94. Oh yeah, and Riley did everything you could ask of him tonight.
  2. I thought I saw two battles tonight; their football team won by a score. Our band won by scores.
  3. I agree.
  4. Are you going to be in town for the game?
  5. Frisco, Lewisville, we haven't heard from you yet.
  6. Our local coach, Steve Lineweaver, really likes Joey Maguire (sp?). Lineweaver says Cedar Hill did nothing football wise before him. I hope whoever our next HFC is, he can keep up the Cedar Hill pipeline.
  7. I'll also put myself down as sorry the student was burglarized. I'll also put myself down with Emmitt as saying the story sounds odd, for several reasons. Here's hoping things turn out alright, and that said student (I'm still not sure whether this is a UNT varsity football player or an intramural player) enrolls in "finance 101" or whatever they call the student financial counseling program.
  8. Win tomorrow, that's all I ask! Until Sunday.
  9. Hey, FIU hired a coach with name "splash".
  10. We won't have the Rangers to kick around anymore. I'm almost ready to start hearing from "Mizzou Tiger" again...tell RV to call Jim Leavitt. Call. Him. Now. And I'm not saying we shouldn't call Jim Leavitt; I just hope that we actually bring in ten or more candidates to interview, and keep an open mind about who is the eventual pick.
  11. Commercial construction projects have a person called a "superintendant" who supervises all aspects of the job, including making sure that something as big as that crane will be able to leave the site once its work is done, as well as seeing that a truck such as you mentioned (usually not as wide as said crane) will be able to deliver the necessary materials in the proper sequence. It kinda looks like they know what they're doing. Also, one of the HKS engineers told me that going to a game in that stadium will be a lot more enjoyable than going to one in the Cowboys Stadium (which they also built). And yes, he told me that before the Cowboys started playing this year's regular season.
  12. Dude, I'm thinking those chains would be confiscated by security before they got in the gate. But then, if there was just a massive pile of (confiscated) chain that could be shown to the visiting team just before they came out of the tunnel, it might play with their minds.
  13. I love that he wants to be here. He get's top grades in his first live test!
  14. I'd do it, but I've already given him the only +1 I can. I was thinking about giving you a -1, but I just didn't have the heart to slap and yell at you today.
  15. +1, and thanks for getting me to laugh out loud. I mean, reading a lot of the other posts make me think I MUST keep reminding myself that it's Halloween. You'll miss a great opportunity if you don't do a Monday Morning recap of this weekend GMG posts.
  16. I hope the players are happy for the win today. I know I am, although I could only listen to parts of it on the radio, in between photographing a church event.

  17. Ah, that would have been useful information...last week, when I went to the Arlington Whole Foods. You do realize that you posted a link to the Subway menu though, right?
  18. Uh, not to get too off topic, but I did not see the "sweet onion soy sauce chicken sub" listed on that linked menu". It sounded good, and I'm needing to vary my Subway choices some, so just thought I'd ask, "where is that which I'm not seeing?" Oh, and yes, details, but important ones.
  19. My heart still says, "great Job, Derek Thompson, going out there with an incompletely healed broken leg and making an assist on a tackle. My head still says, "that must be Jamaal Wilson, the other number 7 on the roster making that assisted tackle".
  20. I'm just kinda wondering, are we overanalyzing? Hey, for now I'm just thinking, "a win, woo-hoo" .
  21. I'm surprised that you're leaving out one thing: passion. Canales may have it; he seems to have decided that he most definitely wants THIS head coaching job. The others that have been mentioned seem to want A head coaching job, somewhere. Sir, never discount the impact of mental attitude and a certain intangible called drive.
  22. I'll agree with everything except the part in bold. I certainly didn't know what to expect. As of last week, WKU looked a team on the improve; UNT going the other way. Past history seemed to bode well for us, but not the recent past.
  23. Hey, it's hard to see any good in these things (we all know that in Denton), but you're not worse than ULL because you beat them. I seriously doubt that you're as bad as either FBS team in New Mexico, and I doubt if you have as screwed up a contract as UNM does with its head football coach, who continues to embarress his employer on and off the field. I think there's hope that your new coach is the real deal, with solid college level coaching and NFL playing experience, whereas Elson only proved how difficult it can be moving from the FCS to FBS level of play. I don't know if that helps any.
  24. With that scenario, I personally don't think so. I mean, even the most skeptical about Canales have set the bar at 3 wins to put Canales in the "can't ignore" category. If he wins 4 out of 5, any of the other candidates would have to make a stronger case than their surrogates have so far, especially if they haven't shown us any particular reason to think they know and care about North Texas.
  25. Alright, I gave him the +1, but just got here a few minutes ago (did listen to as much of the game as I could on the radio while photographing a church event for her). That's the last time I'm covering for your chubby finger tonight.
