As to the 'big boys' who want their own party, the remaining schools should begin to use the term 'college football' every chance they get and refer to the big boys as semi-pro, which is essentially what they are now. Suggested slogan--'At North Texas we play real college football with student athletes.'

Well, the dirty little secret is that football's lifespan may be shortenen considerably due to law suits for injuries and the reluctance of parents to let their boys play the game. The talent pool could be severely reduced, thus causing football to die a lingering death. I hate to see it happen, but it could.

I wish they would tear down the advertising on the west side of Fouts if it is to remain up for awhile. The big ads are really classless looking...especially since they have allowed them to fade in the sun, etc.

While this would only impact a few of the Tennessee fans who are older, like me, here is an idea for Tennessee. Go to Knoxville wearing the old Hayden Fry Mean Green uniforms...this will terrify them, as it was the lime greenies who beat Tennessee in a stunner in the mid seventies. Oh, also, bring a team to Knoxville...that would help.

If you can be competitive, treat your fans well, and play teams that are of interest to your base, you have a fighting chance of some attendance success. Sorry, but SMU has violated at least two of the three forementioned basics.

Apologizies due to the athletic department. The logo is correct, as Conference USA has slightly tweeked their logo to its current configuration.

It is conceivable that C-USA has updated its logo, but it is still the original one on their web site.

Someone needs to do their homework...there are no serifs on the Conference USA logo and the new paint job has serifs on the C and the S.

Last year it was just inside the main gates under the press box area on the west side.

I will never understand why they can't mike up the questioners at the press conferences so we can hear the questions.

I am assuming that Louisiana finally moved away from state supported money for intercollegiate athletics, like Texas does. Louisiana used to give tax money for athletics, which always hurt us in the old Southland Conference.
