  1. Thanks, NTSUEagle...that helps.
  2. Can anyone translate the jersey sizes ( s, m, l, xl, 2xl ) into corresponding sizes like for sweatshirts, etc.? For instance, would a large size sweatshirt be the same size as a large size jersey? I thought the jerseys might run a bit smaller than normal sweatshirt and t-shirt sizes.
  3. Plunk your magic twanger, froggie and get back to your cowchip inventory job in Fort Worth...we'll do OK and so will the TCU this year.
  4. Yep, got mine in Garland today.
  5. Third biggest problem...destertion of the fan base early in the season.
  6. Hope they are not as good as Alabama-Huntsville.
  7. Glad Kaspar's gone to TxSt., otherwise it could have been brutal.
  8. Since the flying worm is not part of the approved athletic logos, it really gets into a gray area as to whether someone could produce it....legally, I guess that since the university does not recognize it as an official logo, someone could market it as an unofficial UNT shirt. Those that buy it could care less if it is official or unofficial.
  9. Oh, how about Ted Pospisil? He was called popsicle on the p.a. accidentally a few times.
  10. In the Fry era we had a linebacker named Terry Champagne and defensive back (I think) named Bobby Bottles. When we played UT and Earl Campbell was playing, the announcer announced that Campbell was brought down by Champagne/Bottles.
  11. OK, here we go. I started the CLC program at North Texas in the late 80's. We had resistance from the administration to license. After Mean Green condums and toilet seats were produced prior to our being licensed, the university came around so as to be able to control our brand. No one thought we would really make any money from licensing, but we made $25,000 the first year. Amusingly, after it was apparent that there was some money to be made, the university made us give a percentage of licensing money to the marching band....seems they wanted an 'educational entity' to profit from the licensing. I do not see a conspiracy on the part of CLC or Bill Battle toward North Texas. In fact, Battle was really great to work with when we got the thing started. In order to really make money on licensing (for North Texas) two things must happen. One, we must win...people do not buy products that identify themselves with losing programs. Two, North Texas' representative for CLC must be very proactive with their CLC representative to constantly say 'don't forget about North Texas'...it is easy to get lost in the shuffle. When the menu of licensed schools is shown to manufacturers we must make North Texas jump up at them to include us. The retailers are also to blame...they just don't want to take a chance on a no name school and get stuck with a lot of leftover merchandise. Also, the big boys get most of the attention and it it easy to carry UT, A&M, etc. Not much real gamble there.
  12. From the photo it looks like the flying worm is outlined in black...a good thing for recognizability.
  13. Since we have a history of green color variations, I like the incorporation of the two. Really should be three, but who's counting. To me the ultimate uniform would use dark green (Dickey), lime green (Hayden Fry) and the current green. Still, me likes the new look.
  14. Hope to hell they don't retro back to Helwig's green, orange and blue.
  15. Headline: 'In a bizarre game, North Texas rolled up 999 yards of offense, which featured no passes. No quarterback was in the game, with Jimmerson taking the snaps and all three backs running the ball.' The Mean Green pasted Idaho with a 33-0 victory.
  16. It's always good to see our own 'home movie'....Necessary Roughness.
  17. Totally agree. Sadly, now the 'big boys' are pushing for more monetary payments to the 'student' athletes at their respective schools. It seems that a four or five year scholarship to Alabama with a degree is not enough monetary payment. I thought a college degree fully paid is a damn good payment for four or five years of part time work.
  18. The article is an affront to all college teams. The fans of the listed schools care just as much about their teams as any of the 'powerful matchup' games played. I'm real sorry that the writer has nothing better to do than attempt to demean all the effort put out by the schools belittled by the article.
  19. They'll enter the stadium as Vandals and leave as baked potatoes.
  20. Should be fun to see the Vandals operating in 101 degree weather. Oregon State wilted in Fouts a few years ago.
  21. Screen printed numbers, etc. look cheap....sorry.
  22. Doubt that we have the 'budget' for some of the pipedream players.
  23. Since the helmet is white, the green will show up great. However, the two values of green are too close together to be defineable at a distance. Since the original ones were white on a green helmet they showed up pretty well, although a black outline would have helped the Hayden Fry helmets. That's my opinion, for what it is worth. I'm still excited to see the ensignia on the helmets....we won a hell of a lot games wearing the 'flying worm.'....Just ask SMU, Houston, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, etc. what they thought of the emblem and lime green. Before anyone jumps me about the Mississippi State game, they had to forfeit it eventually to us due to NCAA violations.
  24. While I am thrilled that we are doing throwback for the first game, the 'sneak peek' of the white helmet with Hayden Fry log has a basic design flaw. The outline of the flying worm should be in black, not the medium green they are apparently using. THERE WILL BE NO CONTRAST TO ALLOW THE LOGO TO BE SEEN FROM A DISTANCE.
