  1. Hey Cougar King, did you guys borrow your helmets from South Alabama?
  2. I thought they were talking about our reserves.
  3. New jerseys with 'anonymous' printed on them, not North Texas.....just kidding.
  4. We are very hungry for success, so let's celebrate success one step at a time and not be ashamed to do so.
  5. It's always tough to beat semi-pro teams, but it could happen.
  6. Ad art major here, who has had season tickets for years and years. I took a seven year break when Helwig was AD, but other than that, have been a supporter since 1966.
  7. I sat close to those clowns, too. At first I thought that they were NT students who had slipped into our section, then I thought they were high schools kids, then I thought they were junior high kids, etc. Call me crazy, but at times Derek Thompson looked like Steve Ramsey out there yesterday.
  8. A complete crock. Who did the 'survey' and who answered truthfully?
  9. Good god, we're getting exposure that we all crave. It is worth it to jumble everyone's busy Saturday schedule.
  10. Id venture to say that less than 7% of the people working at North Texas know a damn thing about North Texas traditions. The other 93% are working hard to undermine those traditions, since things were so much better at their alma mater (what ever part of the country they are from). Case in point RCMA or whatever the hell it is called.
  11. Should be interesting next year at Texas. They are not that good and we might just be good. Will we get the home hose job if we are very competitive? Time will tell. The 1988 team was not too shabby...beat Tech, beat Rice and beat Texas and then off to the national 1-AA playoffs. Scott Davis and Marcus Camper were on fire in Austin that year.
  12. I cannot get your temp prediction to make sense...91 for a high, highest temp is in mid afternoon...mid afternoon kickoff...kickoff temp 91. Right?
  13. Most coaches talk about the upcoming competition like they were playing an NFL team that week. Typical 'coach talk.' Secretly they know they are going to win or lose (usually).
  14. Yeah, but we are ahead of SMU.
  15. And so, like many North Texas alumni, you can add up the reasons not to support your alma mater. In fact, I read into your statement that you are basically ashamed of your alma mater. It does not have to be corny. Why should high school students show up to visit the main music engine in college musical education in the state? Maybe they want a look at the school and maybe the school wants a look at them.
  16. Correct me if I'm wrong, but DT did not get sucked breathless and get burned on the first damn play of the game by Ohio. Everyone knew they would try the same long pass play to start the game as Idaho did (and burned us). Take that play away and we win..
  17. The band deserves a bowl trip this year...hope it happens for them and the whole North Texas community.
  18. Student section painting was offered to all campus groups...dorms got into the act, too. It was gaudy, but I think the kids got a kick out of having their own section on game day. Thanks for the kudos, Plumm.
  19. Well done, Mr. Campbell. Keep it up.
  20. If we beat Ohio, you'll need to run to get on the bandwagon, cause it will be rolling a warp speed.
  21. It's from a North Texas Daily writer...take every word he says to the bank. Some of the most frightening times in my time at the athletic department was being interviewed by the North Texas Daily.
  22. What goes around comes around.
  23. My wife and I talked to a lady from Idaho before the game and she said she did not understand why we were called the Mean Green since the people in at North Texas were so nice...appreciated the comment...did not get her name, but I do know that she flew down from Idaho for the game.
  24. No apology necessary, Harry. Keep up the good work.
