    Seems to me that our players know how to hit you in the mouth, too. Only difference will be the referees at the game in Austin. You ain't suppose to win there and the 'horns are protected. Don't believe me? Take a look at the North Texas vs. Texas '88 game tape.

    If somehow we play SMU and Jankovich is their coach, there will be no mercy from him. Could be really embarrassing.

    Don't know about the parade, but it is rumored that Lee Jackson will be decked out in all green (cleverly disguised as a leprachaun) for the game.

    Craig was always fun on team charters for football games....at one time he knew the mascot of every high school in Texas...probably still does. Great guy..glad for his success.

    Every school is more concerned with covering their ass than actually having a fun event for the fan base of each school. Right now it would be SMU and the three also rans....SMU would dominate this 'tournament' right now.

    Yeah, we've been asleep for years, so a bowl game is a huge first step.

    So we should admonish ourselves because two teams from Louisiana, who are natural rivals, are selling more tickets to their game than our game vs. UNLV? Put some blame on UNLV, who will bring a pitiful crowd. Of course, we could do better, but it is no joke that we got the least appealing opponent from out fans' perspective.

    As I've said before, somehow SMU is behind this snub.

    I know for a fact that we played BYU, Oklahoma State and UTA at the Cotton Bowl...could be more that slips my mind. We were really bad in '72 and I think there were 12 people at the game vs. BYU...I was one of them. Golden Richards had a field day against us.

    As usual, NT has tremendous pressure to turn out the troops. Our opponent should have been a better pick as relates to projected attendance from each school. Heart of Dallas has only themselves to blame if attendance is poor...of course, if weather is bad, it could really be terrible.

    Can't blame them for trying. We are under a lot of pressure to furnish the crowd, since UNLV will not. It is a 'home town' team in the Cotton Bowl, so why not work the employee bases in Dallas. They should be working the Denton Chamber of Commerce, too. Also, what about the many many UNT employee? Maybe they are doing that, who knows.

    Be not your heart troubled...relish the fact that we play college football, not semi-pro football masqueraded as college football.

    Maybe he'll sit on one side for the first half and go to the other side for the second...just like the President of the U.S. does.

    All the press I have seen lists the game as UNLV vs. UNT...usually the home team is listed last...time will tell.
