  1. So who are the officiating crew? Big XII or CUSA or split? Anyone know...this is important.
  2. Is Perry on the football team at UT?
  3. For what it's worth, we played SMU in Denton and had a sellout in late '80's...it was televised on local area tv..channel 21 or someone like that. It was, however, a six pm kickoff and I worked my tail off to sell the gap between the automatic 15,000 that were easy sells and the remaining 5,000 that put us over the top...by the way, about an hour before kickoff we learned that the lights at Fouts were not working..thankfully, they came on later in the game when we needed them.
  4. It should read 'Vince Young OFFICIALLY hired by Texas.'
  5. Will you have Mean Green gear in the appropriate languages?
  6. Speaks volumes as to the Mc Carney school of coaching....strong academics to complement athletic success. We haven't seen that in previous regimes. Also a compliment to Rick V and his dedication to the words 'student athlete.'
  7. Yep, that was Scott Davis...Marcus Camper had an all-world game, too. It was a screw job orchestrated in four quarters.
  8. By the time the Mean Green get to Austin Texas might be playing six man football.
  9. College football might just still be alive and kicking.....semi-pro ball disguised as college football might die from greed.
  10. Eric Capper, who is sports info director should make the call to the biz school to amend the email, me thinks.
  11. Harry, I second that emotion.
  12. Hayden Fry is magic...I wish all of you could meet him.
  13. Seems to me the next game on your schedule is your most important game...that is North Texas.
  14. Seems to me Harry was just pointing out McNulty's bloodline...nothing more, nothing less.
  15. Should be interesting, Cerebus.
  16. CLC licensing for North Texas is 10% per unit sold. The liability issue is about about $400 a year for insurance. For the 'local license' you are entitled to produce products for two universities in Texas with the exception of Texas and A&M...if the manufacturer does two schools (North Texas and Texas Tech as an example) they are getting two for the price of the $400 insurance policy. The North Texas 10% is about average for the licensed universities. If the manufacturer does two schools and manufacturers 500 units per school, they bring their insurance unit cost down. The two factors, as I see it, are their perception of poor volume for North Texas products, coupled by a non aggressive licensing strategy at the university. More athletic success breeds more recognition and perhaps more interest in North Texas products. I created the CLC agreement in the late 80's and contacted my CLC representative regularly to keep North Texas in the forefront when the menu was presented to manufacturers. We made about $25,000 for the university, as my memory serves. Hope that helps clarify a little. By the way, CLC is the Cadillac of the licensing industry. Self licensing is a possibility, but it takes a lot of work.
  17. Thanks to Harry for helping me ramrod this project. If we have success with these, there will be other items aimed at the hardcord Mean Green...no generic stuff.
  18. For you old timers...'Book-em, Dan-o.'
  19. It's always nice to have a cluster of member schools just sitting and waiting in the waiting room Big Time General Hospital.
  20. George Dunham, voice of North Texas football....Craig Miller, voice of negativity.
  21. Gotta go with the big Y--Mason Y'Barbo.
  22. They had a stunning turnaround in football in the 80's...and you know what that got them.
  23. When I was working at the athletic dept. I was always told that the media was just waiting for us to get good so they could jump onto the bandwagon...looks like it finally is beginning to happen. We have a lot of media-type alums out there, so there is always room for one more.
  24. Fifty yard line of Fouts Field has a long history of gridiron grinding.
