If the team supports the coach, that might be his ace in the hole...the desire to retain all our players for next year.

What do you think the tipping point is for Tony Benford? How many wins and losses will he need to stay, or is he safe anyway?

The team seems to be improving, but there are still a lot of questions. Why do we always fold in the second half? Is it effort (I don't think so) or is it halftime adjustments by both coaches? Who knows.

There is always the option of a quick face painting of green prior to the event.

The six thousand fans at SMU basketball games is about the number of fans at their football games. The demographics just aren't on SMU's side. They will never be embraced by the average fan in Dallas. They may go bowling and have some decent won-loss records, but they will never again be much of a factor at the turn stiles. Of course, they will get local media priority attention. When all the dust settles a few years down the line, they will be in no better position than June Jones had them in the last few years.

The Charlie Johnson thing is a fiasco, although he did coach in the Missouri Valley. The Missouri Valley back then was equal or superior to the current ACC or Big 10. The Benford stat is heartbreakingly pitiful.

No one to report..went to high school in Missouri where football is the stepchild to basketball. We did have one guy play linebacker for the University of Missouri.

Thom was on the cheerleading squad when I was the sponsor....he's a good guy. He was on at least one squad that won the national championship.

They take their basketball very seriously in North Carolina..home court advantage will be huge.

Phillips brothers did a lot of advertising and promotions with North Texas while I worked doing promos, etc. They are good businessmen who also had a soft heart for us even in the I-AA days.

Never heard of the art design dept. at North Texas, but we do have a renowned Advertising Art program. I got a job mid semester of my last semester at NorthTexas. I have been lucky and have never had to apply for a job my whole career--thanks North Texas.

Not only that, but it my understanding that Ticketmaster will not share tickets purchasers' info with the athletic dept....unbelievable.

OK, here's the deal...if you are a new $25 donor you get ONE free ticket for each of the home games in the Eagle Wing section. That way new members could get a peek at the product and will probably bring one PAYING customer with them. As I have said so many time, empty seats do not buy cokes, hot dogs or t-shirts.

We know how to up attendance, but the athletic administration will not listen to us. Firefighting Rick and other members of the Athletic Top 20 knew how to do it...it could happen again, but will not with current athletic dept. attitudes regarding advise from the 'unwashed.'
