Deon Hunter told me after the game that altitude hurt, too. Of course, North Carolina played in the same altitude...imagine it hurt both teams.

I was on that trip, too. One story for you--as we were on the plane headed to Utah, the stew came to our seats (I was sitting with coach Gales and his wife). She told Jimmy Gales that he had a phone call. He went up front to answer the phone that was on the wall close to the bathrooms. I could see him talk and laugh a lot. When he came back his wife asked him who it was on the phone and he said it was Bill Blakeley. Gales said that Blakeley told him 'what ever you do, don't try to coach the team.' Jimmy Gales got a big kick out of Blakeley's call. As some of you may remember, Gales was an assistant coach with Blakeley and they were great friends.

What if North Texas wins the tournament? It will be a basically neutral site for the conference tournament...anything can happen, although I imagine the CUSA office will take care of their own--UTEP and La Tech.

Everybody pray that the SMU game is not an 11 o'clock kickoff on a 90 plus degree day...absolutely no breeze in their stadium.

This team keeps getting better...more power to them. On a neutral court in Birmingham they might just surprise.

Great effort from the guys, who played before a pitifully small crowd.

There appears to be very little creativity in scheduling. We were seduced into believing that the new stadium would mean more attractive home teams. We've had some, but I think they could do better.

The spring game is April 18th. Don't know much more.

Interesting to me that the Denia neighbors have the clout to screw us up on game day, but not enough clout to fix Bonnie Brae.

In Denton it usually takes a traffic death or major injury to get anything done.
