  1. Really like the shirt...licensing can be so tedious. Paul Batchelder, the licensing guy at North Texas might give you a pass if you just wanted to sell some shirts for that one game...just a thought.
  2. Nice shirt with all kinds of licensing implications.
  3. Only five home games...sounds familiar.
  4. Another North Texas grad to be hired....the sky is falling and cows are jumping over the moon.
  5. Here we go...the hits will just keep on a coming.
  6. Speaking of Ken Williams...let's not forget that he held the record for total rebounds in a season NATIONALLY.
  7. The '75-'76 team was probably the best team ever to hit the floor for North Texas....Joe Hamilton and Crest Whitaker's team in the late 60's was really good, too. They played in the Missouri Valley conference, so their record is not as gaudy as the '75-'76 team, but they might be the second best team of all at North Texas.
  8. A little off subject, but why don't we have players' names on the back of jerseys? With the constant turnover, it would be good to see their names ...
  9. So did all the asst. coaches wash out with Petersen?
  10. Let me get this straight, KRAM, your school colors at Denton High were purple and God? Man, how did you ever lose a game?
  11. It's true that sometimes we are our own worst enemy.
  12. Support for Tina was tiny back in the days, but so was support for many other 'minor sports.' Women's basketball was just catching fire nationally and generally just a sport to appease the feds relative to title IX for the most part. Tina never complained, but was promoted in her last years to Assistant AD for women's sports.
  13. The significance of this game cannot be belittled. Had we beaten Texas, it would have had a profound influence of how the North Texas program was perceived by the general sports public in Texas and beyond. Another robbery that would have had the same positive affect for NT was the Arkansas robbery of 1968. These wins that were taken from us could have profoundly impacted recruiting.
  14. Anybody want to guess how many of our games will be televised this year...seems that WKU and SMU are a lock.
  15. By then we will probably be in another conference and all bets will be off for the home schedule...welcome to the excitement of conference re-alignment.
  16. This is going to be fun.
  17. OK, let's see...most head coaches with success started as an assistant somewhere. She is an assistant at a quality program and is being mentored by a good head coach...I like her chances for success.
  18. The 'Fighting Siestas' of Sanoma Junior college use the colors clear and brown. Might be nice change.
  19. Anyone want to guess how this got started? I'm putting my money on professors who ranted in class about the Governor's coming to campus.
  20. Pitiful that the Governor of Texas charges $100,000 for an appearance in front of the taxpayers/voters who elected him....still, it is a good thing to have the Governor on campus.
  21. It's always a good idea to piss off the hand that feeds you.
  22. Excited to hire one of our own, for a change.
  23. Discussions about VCU, Wichita State, Gonzaga and Butler should always be made with the fact in mind that they do not have football to rely on for exposure. Obviously, they put all their eggs in the basketball basket for their success.
  24. Sadly, I think Blakeley's health issues caused the program to slip some. He had major eye problems and it seems to me now to have caused him to lose his edge. Another three of four years of Blakeley in good health would have made a huge difference.
  25. Good guy who finally gets his chance. I emailed him and congratulated him...got an immediate response thanking me for thinking of him.
