I've said it once and I'll say it again--the media is extremely lazy and must be spoon fed. -
He was fired by Pohl and left having done nothing for North Texas. He now courts big money donors for TCU athletics. That's how life works...the under achievers just keep rocking along from job to job.

A coach with a proven track record for D-1 success should help solidify the prospect of players transferring out of the program. A weak choice could be a cause for alarm if we assume that some of our current players can be good.

Did not realize that Rick had passed away...thanks for the update. I had been wondering about him lately. He was a super fan. -
Don't know about the apartment, but he lived in the old quads (dorms) with other athletes early in his days at North Texas.

Seems to me that it took forever to get the new players to get used to (or buy into) the system. That is a danger when you get a lot of transfers from different programs.

The hardest working team in women's college basketball!!!

If they hang banners printed exactly like the four that are up it does not matter. Who can read the banners? Poor lighting and each banner is a graphic nightmare. Banners should really pop, but they do not.

In 1967 or 1968 Colorado State came to Fouts to play us. They featured a running attack with a premier back who went on to play in the NFL (I think). Because of Joe, they suddenly had no running game and resorted to punting on third down since every play lost them yards. He was a wrecking crew complimented by some other fine defensive players. -
Benford will be graded on his body of work. His body of work does not constitute any further consideration as head coach. You come and go in the coaching business on the W's and L's. He has had due time and, for whatever reasons, wasn't able to build a respectable program. Good luck to him at his next venue...time for a drastic change at men's basketball.

What ever happened to the good ole days when our coaches left for high school jobs? -
Sadly, there is an entire graduating class at North Texas that has never seen a winning basketball program....5 years is a long time.

Baylor is nuclear waste at the moment...get as far away as possible.

Kaspar is a North Texas grad, which automatically excludes him for consideration as head coach here.

Great news...congrtats to the ladies.

Fouts west side should have come down first...what an eyesore.

If the Baylor ship goes down thru penalties there might be a chance to do some scheduling with teams affected by the penalties dealt Baylor.

The first sell out of Apogee should be the home opener. No reason not to. A sell out is very doable with creativity and hard work. -
I would take Johnny back in a new york minute.
