By the way, if we had not gone to the NCAA tournament in 1988 North Texas State would never have been listed in the history of the tournament. We changed the name to University of North Texas in May after the basketball season.

Back in my day it was done by the campus police upon a request from athletic department personnel (me). I only did the authorization a few times and the AD did it most of the time.
