  1. I think it will be fun to see what y'all come up with relative to the name of the stadium ( if you called the shots ).
  2. One answer is to immediately start supporting the basketball teams with your attendance. Real universities have football and basketball.
  3. The vote was huge, as it signaled a gradual turn toward a total on campus college experience for NT students. The forces that have had a strangle hold on NT's struggle to progress toward a university that offers the total college experience seemed to have lost this election. The move will help recruit the 'beefy' majors to campus, who will be the nucleus of future big donations, i.e. business, engineering, pre-med, law, perhaps pharmacy ,etc. The vote also clears the way for major participation on the part of alumni who have for decades questioned the sincerely of the senior administration relative to athletics. In a nut shell, we might just have a rah rah atmosphere here at NT in the near future...an atmosphere that has served Tam, Ut, Ttech well for many many years.
  4. Thanks to the students, we do not have to have the public humiliation of being North Texas fans when each of us goes to work Monday...Plus, the SMU and TCU boards won't have too much fodder.
  5. Have you ever seen a plan from the athletic department detailing the stadium project? As an example, we need $60 million to build the stadium...our plan is this: corporate sponsorships $11 million, student fee money, $20 million, 500 donors at the $10,000 level, etc., etc. No you haven't...that is a big part of the problem, they never spelled out specifically their plan for raising the money. I am willing to donate, but I sit here without one piece of literature detailing giving levels, etc.
  6. It's obvious to me that KRAM'S salary must be cut for omitting the Denton meet and greet. As you know, he gets big bucks from the alumni association for his participation.
  7. Don't you just love the press....they have us 0-8 in the headline, then refer to our record as 0-6 in the story. These guys may buy ink by the barrel, but I doubt most have the ability to find the barrel if they need it.
  8. Too much work involved on the part of the university. Besides, we only paint in broad strokes, not little piss ant people projects.
  9. Given the overall distaste for Greeks on this board, I find it amusing that now you need us ( them ). Greeks can be a real mess, but they also can be very positive for a campus...let's see them deliver on the good side on this one.
  10. A friend of mine told me it would be the only touch down of the day...thank goodness he was wrong.
  11. I thought at first that it was a combined effort from the College of Visual Arts and the College of Trucking at UNT.
  12. The administration of UNT loves having the student population of 35,000 or more. It makes them a lot of money so they can throw it around to administrators. All they have to do is look 35 miles to the south and see what the lack of a football program does to retard enrollment. UNT will never go the UTA route....they are too greedy for that. They will find a way to stay afloat....it might give them an excuse to show a lot of athletic types to the door.
  13. I don't have a press guide handy, but I'll bet we never had a season winless in all the history of the program.
  14. I don't think that Todd has ever professed to be a 'collage' coach. Collage coaching can be found in the School of Visual Arts, not the football field.
  15. I think that one of the stinging aspects of this loss was losing to a school that sounds like an airline---later we have to play a school named after an insurance company--florida atlantic.
  16. Easily explained when you consider that hardly anyone who works in the athletic department has the least bit of loyalty to North Texas....screwing with NT's colors is easy for the vandals and enterlopers who inhabit the athletic dept.
  17. I am amused that you put LSU on the same (or higher plain) than North Texas. Bad assumption.
  18. The more I see 'captain kangaroo' on tv the more I dislike him. Great that he lost.
  19. I am fascinated that Rice has a banner honoring Pulitzer Prize winner Larry McMurtry, as he is a North Texas grad. Maybe he lectured there once and that is enough to warrant a banner.
  20. Good post. Dodge will get it done. In fact, the trials and tribulations will probably steel him into an even better coach in the next few years. I do not agree with all the nay sayers that he can't coach at the college level, but there is definitely a learning curve...Dodge is smart, he will adjust quite nicely.
  21. My nephew was in the mob....be worried if the mob did not do anything to parody NT....that would have been the final humiliation.
  22. Another licensing nightmare.
  23. Hey, consider the source. The Bottom Ten is, obviously, written by someone with a degree in creative studies from some junior college. Don't sweat it, we'll break out soon.
  24. Apparently a slow news day for the Telegraph in the UK. This is obviously a matter to be determined by the state department of the united nations. This could damage relations between the US and the UK.
