  1. It could have been worse...he could have kissed his ass.
  2. Greenjoe--stadium razzmatazz at the blue parking lot at 1pm and the spring game is at 3. Hope to see you there.
  3. I cannot help but think that when we leave the spring game, etc. we will have just as many questions as we do now...Kinda like listening to some politician and then saying to yourself 'what did he just say?'...hope I'm wrong.
  4. Pitiful use of government time....does she realize that the U.S. is really in bad shape and needs enlightened leadership, not pep rallies?
  5. Sock it to 'em flyer.
  6. 3pm, central daylight time, on April 4.
  7. Couldn't care less about Western Kentucky, but we need the money...go Western.
  8. Dallas Green is correct on all points. As an advertising art graduate, I should be somewhat hurt by his comments relative to artsy (he forgot to add the fartsy)...but I am not. Anyone with an IQ of 50 or more reallizes the bang for your buck you get from a successful athletic program. As to the President's Council, I decided last year to quit that organization when I read the bonuses being paid to Bataille. Let her use some of her own money if she wants to help pump up her pet scholarship projects. By the way, you know who you have to thank for Dr. Pohl's departure...none other than our favorite leader, Chancellor Jackson.
  9. I have a fraternity brother who is on the host committee in Hot Springs. He has told me that the committee is already working on ways to make next year even better. I think that Hot Springs is really doing all it can to make the tournament a great success for all involved.
  10. Quick count, as of today is 80.
  11. When we get the basketball gameday eight page booklet for basketball like they produce for football, I will retract the word spotty. That is all I am going to say on the board.
  12. Given the spotty support by the athletic department, coupled with poor attendance numbers, I think Johnny will jump soon.
  13. Might want to rethink this looks thing. Expertise and ineptness have many faces and bodies. Want a good laugh, how about what people thought of John Wooden when he took over the UCLA basketball program. He never played the game and never looked like he had ever been on a court....it worked out OK for him. Vito is doing his best and I enjoy his work.
  14. They could have the tournament on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, skip Monday and still have the finals on Tuesday. Just a thought. More cost for teams to 'hang out' from Sunday to Tuesday, I guess.
  15. While it is nice of Vito to update us, wouldn't it be nice if someone from the football office would take two minutes and post on this board what the status of each practices is?
  16. Does Arkansas-Little Rock have enough of a following to have a home court advantage?
  17. If you ever have been to The Renaissance Hotel in Richardson, it is one of Hammond's, too. I think personally that the current economic climate will stall this undertaking, however. I agree with DallasGreen, I'll be happier when I learn that all the contracts have been signed.
  18. Quick correction. I should have said that the NCAA tournament shows that there is a lot of good basketball being played by teams outside of the 'power conferences.' My mistake in quick typing.
  19. A really bad idea. This idea is often floated by the 'power conferences' to keep the 'little boy' down. Back in the early 90's there was talk of going to two divisions with the size of each team's venue as the cut off point. Obviously, NT would make the cut to the higher conference due to the size of the SuperPit. the NCAA tournament quickly shows that there is a lot of good basketball being played by teams from the 'power conferences.' Of course, television has done damage to widening the gap between the big boys and little boys. Even if there was a split, I think the Sun Belt would make the cut to stay with the bigger conferences. It seems that in the NCAA athletic world you are not rewarded for success, but held down by the name of your university.
  20. The entire 1967 and 68 defense. It will never be repeated. There have been some good ones since then, too.
  21. Face this fact. We are playing a perceived minor league schedule in a major market. The only way to truly get student attendance is to up the profile of the teams coming to Denton or beat Sun Belt teams by 40 every game. You will get the buzz you need by doing either one of the two scenerios.
  22. 35-26 NT at the half.
  23. Point of information....our schedule shows the game tipping off at 1pm. Denver web site shows it tipping off at 1pm....I assume it is 2pm our time. Am I correct?
  24. Seems to me, given the success of our competitors' recruiting efforts, that we should just give up basketball for the foreseeable future. Not only is the sky falling, so are the basketballs. Have you ever noticed that all the geniuses are 100 miles away or farther?
