Hey, here's an idea. I am going to have an event and I want to get as many people there as possible. I advertise it in the NT Daily, I have the athletic department put it on their web site, I email all people who I have email addresses for and I put the information on facebook, and all the 'new' communication outlets. This, in my humble opinion, will get the message out.

I just have to think that Dodge has been just burning up inside to show the critics wrong and to produce a winner. He has made some good moves that should pay off for the program.

Point of clarification. The Denton Chapter of the Alumni Association planned and hosted the event. Many thanks to Chris and Mark and the rest of the Denton group for putting the event together. It was good to see Derrick and the national association reps there, too.

Fascinating that the moron from New York is proposing such actions. First, it takes two thirds of both houses, then it takes three fourths of the states to radify it. Aren't there any democrats who would like to be president in the next 10 years? His majesty Obama's poll numbers are also falling. I imagine that the American people will have quite enough of Obama in four or eight years.

Soccer is a participant sport at the young age level that does not translate into a spectator sport in the USA. The Hispanis influx into the US might dramatically change the number of spectators in the future.

Ole Suzanne was hard nosed. I accidentially got bad counseling and ended up in her class with 'no prior business courses.' I never did understand her tests, and got an F for the course (she would not let me drop). But, I must say that was the greatest class I ever took as far as learning something. Sadly, I was never able to show my knowledge on her tests. I always really liked the old gal...she was precursor to the term 'ball buster.'

The eventual demise might be delayed, but at least they have a chance now of making some mid course corrections, i.e. marketing, better budgeting, etc.

This article got me to thinking back to the days when we could not pay the pep band for home basketball games. So, the volunteer students never were there for the Christmas/semester break games. My thanks to Greenjoe for his official North Texas backup pep band who filled in for us. I will always be grateful. Greenjoe was also a volunteer cheerleader on the press box side when we did not have enough cheerleaders for both sides. Greenjoe is a great supporter over the years.

Surely they explored the idea of music department helping with funding before they took this dire step. 14 dance team girls in the middle of the football field at halftime, dancing to canned music will be most impressive.

I did a lot of work for Judy Southard when she was the AD at TWU. She is a real go getter, but I think a bit old for the Marshall gig.

They have the wrong school logo and think we have only been playing DI football since 1994...forget the twenty or so years before the Hurley catastrophe in '81, apparently.

I have been under the impression that we pretty much had an open ended invitation to the WAC, but are not pursuing it.

It's a licensing issue...they cannot get the OK from the Univesity to use their own logo without paying the university a licensing fee of 8.25 %. Just a theory.
