We really need to work on a creative and potent out of conference schedule. It is really unfair to the team to work hard all year and be put in the meat grinder of the 15 or 16 seed. Also, we could sell more home game tickets if our opponents were better known to the general public.

I have Weasel's jersey...wouldn't take $1000 for it. As to where he is now, the last time I talked to him on the phone in the late 80's he was coaching and or principal at one of the older Houston High Schools.

Maybe it's time for the athletic department to break a sweat and start doing some serious work promoting basketball. Higher profile opponents at home and halftimes that feature more than little dribblers would help a lot.

Basically, the prices have remained the same. Glad they did not jump prices up with the new stadium on the horizon. I imagine the prices at the new stadium will rise.

I know a little bit about Missouri State....they have a great new basketball facility, but their football stadium is not that impressive. They have poor attendance for football and their basketball attendance is good but not great. Mo State has been approached by the SBC in past years, but was told they were happy at being I-AA in football. Mo State has great potential, but have a lot to do to climb up to C-USA. They do have a good solid fan base, market, etc. Most of their fan base is for basketball only, however.

Actually Jackson was wearing the school colors.....the blue of UNT-Dallas. Anyway, he was in Hot Springs for the last two games and seemed very bored by the whole thing. He spent most of his time at the Denver game on his cell phone texting. When we won the championship on Tuesday night, he did not even go down on the floor to congratulate the team, so far as I could see. He ain't no Gretchen or Norval.

Just got back from Hot Springs....it was fantastic....hope some more of you will get on the bandwagon for the NCAA tournament, whereever we are playing. Great fun. Johnny Jones is easy to follow, as he is class all the way.

For some reason I don't think that we match up well with ASU. Hopefully, we won't see them again this year.

Sometimes I get frustrated by Johnny's scheduling of 'tiny' non-conference opponents, but I must say that we are certainly getting our money's worth with Coach Jones. He is a good man who is always competitive in league play and he graduates players (who seem to stay out of trouble). Congrats to him for the contract extension.

Might not be a bad idea for the team to start playing basketball at the tipoff and not dog it for the first 10 minutes of the game thinking they can race back and win any night.

I know Morris Martin personally. He is not the sort of person who would intentionally do anything to degrade UNT. It was merely an observation that he made that probably is being way too amplified. Should he have been quoted? Maybe, as it was an interesting observation. Maybe not if the DMN writer was compelled to not write anything the least bit hurtful or interesting.

Given his association with the discredited SMU football program, I think he would be a perfect politician. He knows where the money is and how to get it, even if it is slightly illegal.

I still have no earthly idea why we went to Boise State in the first place. They offer us nothing relative to college basketball other than a trap game in godawful weather.
