  1. He's in that big soccer game in the sky, I think.
  2. I agree with KRAM that we must all step up to the plate and participate as our money and consciences allow. However, that being said, how long has it been since anyone from the athletic department contacted you about giving money to athletics? They have a bunch of fundraisers on salary, but precious little presence in the lives of the donor base--be it potential or firm.
  3. There must be continuing communication between UNT athletic dept. and CLC or UNT gets left out. UNT needs to question CLC every month as to status, etc. Winning certainly would help. For those of you who don"t want UNT to be licensed, hope you enjoy seeing UNT toilet seat lids and Mean Green condoms. Both these items were produced before we got a handle on using our name and logos. CLC basically caters to those who are active. Apparently UNT is not very active in keeping their licensing front and center. Of course, the big schools hog a lot a attention from CLC, which is why it is so critical that UNT stay after them to perform.
  4. Texas Tech, LSU and Kansas...I see the RPI getting better and better.
  5. Isn't it sad that we have to piece together our upcoming season's schedule by bits and pieces from opponents' boards.
  6. In an odd twist of fate, Todd Dodge takes over at quarterback and Riley Dodge moves over to head coach.
  7. drex is at sec.E, row 31, seats 3 and 4.
  8. Herb Larkin is the former player you referenced. He lives in New York, I think. Seems to me that someone on this board has contact with him. He was paralized during a pick-up game at the Men's Gym (Now Bahnsen Gym). I was there and witnessed it. Of course, we had no idea at the time the extent of his injuries. I think, as my memory serves me, that the game was made up of mostly NT players playing a game in the off season. There might already be a Herb Larkin scholarship fund...I am not sure.
  9. I second that emotion. SMU prays every day that the big beast up north never gets rolling.
  10. Sorry, but I am leary of any academic credentials from Louisiana with the exception of Tuland.
  11. Interesting that Davis is being recruited by UNT and North Texas...we must really be after him.
  12. Don't worry, only about half of the members will ever show up for a meeting.
  13. Oddly enough, I think that there are things going on behind the scenes that ultimately will make us happy. Johnny has a strong hand to play and will do so.
  14. Light a candle for me, John.
  15. I believe it was for people who had donated to the stadium fund. It was real nice...good food and drinks and the construction was going on as we mingled and visited.
  16. After having been on the sidelines and at practices, I can attest to the fact that Corky Nelson holds a PhD. in cussing.
  17. We have had two coaches who Turner Gill would have enjoyed being around. Odus Mitchell allowed no cussing and I don't think that Dennis Parker did either.
  18. what about running Josh at the shooting guard and let Dom run at point?
  19. To me this takes a lot of pressure off Riley and Todd.
  20. Our recent success and record is also hurting, probably. TCU and SMU want nothing to do with us, as they know they will lose and they don't want to take the metroplex 'hits.' It's juvenile, but that is probably the thinking on their part. Instead of having heated rivalries in the metroplex that would generate fans, they probably don't want to risk the humiliation of losing to us. There seems to me to be a happy medium in this scheduling thing. While we might not get Notre Dame here, why must we host Cameron? There ought to be a lot of schools from similar conferences to ours who we could do a home and home with. Notice I did not use the term mid-major.
  21. I will be fascinated to see what sort of person wants to be president of UNT and have Lee Jackson breathing over his/her shoulder all the time.
  22. They named a field after him, but refused to name any further checks after him.
  23. Im never happy with a loss. Preposterious scenerio.
  24. I really wouldn't blame JJ is he left. Playing in front of 1000 to 2500 people every night must be demoralizing.
  25. I remember the game very well..they had Chuckie Williams, who went on to the NBA (I think). We were great that night.
