  1. Troy is not on expansion radar screens because of its media market and alumni size....the rest of it doesn't really matter as you chase the almighty dollar.
  2. More power to them....at least they are innovative.
  3. I am going with the bulldog tenacity of Troy Kokjohn.
  4. A strong running game should eat up more clock and take pressure off the defense to stay on the field so long.
  5. This Clifton guy is the living symbol of Denton's collection of residents who repel development, which ultimately hurts intercollegiate athletics.
  6. Bustle just disrespected the NT talent level and also really seems to have no respect for Todd Dodge. For the sake of Dodge and the team I hope we beat the hell out of some of the SBC schools. In my opinion only MT and Troy have any room to trash us, as the others are just a hair away from the same records we have posted recently.
  7. The biggest killer of North Texas' image is the rollercoaster ride relative to wins and losses. We don't seem to be able to have a winning program in any sport for more than three or four years, then we do a nose dive for ten years and crawl back to a few consecutive years of winning. If we could win for a streak and then even slide back to .500 and be competitive it would help.
  8. May God bless your family in this time of need.
  9. I hope we never get confused for the Texas Longhorns. We have a huge convict deficit compared to the Horns.
  10. Looks good to me...hope I can get one before you run out.
  11. Believe me, the political bend of the city councils in Denton over the years have been far from conservative. I'll stop at that.
  12. Denton is controlled by the anti-business crowd. They have about 3,900 votes in their pocket going into any municipal election. Sadly, there is no cohesive pro business coalition to counter the anti-business crowd. Denton municipal elections usually only have about 5 to 6 thousand people vote, so the anti-business gang always wins. Ironically, a lot of the anti-business votes come from North Texas employees. So, it is North Texas itself that contributes to the anti-business climate in Denton and ultimately the stagnation of any real progress for athletics.
  13. I like our logo in Hayden Fry green outlined in black...looks good.
  14. Egos do not allow for TCU and SMU to participate.
  15. To the best of my knowledge, alcohol sales are legal if the venue is in a wet precinct. As to the NCAA, they prohibit alcohol at championship events, but nothing beyond that dictate.
  16. To be specific, it was on a fence pole located at the corner of Bonnie Brae and Willowwood. That is university property, as it is the far southwest corner of the old golf course. I feel a law suit in the making.
  17. I was driving by the new stadium today and out of the corner of my eye I noticed a placard on a fence post near the tennis courts that advertised a meeting of the Denia Neighborhood Assn. Does anyone know if it has happened yet? If so, were there any fireworks?
  18. I was rocking along fine until they had the image come on with the words strong character...then I turned it off. Texas and strong character? Give me a break.
  19. All hail Fuller's ESB...maybe even Bass on tap.
  20. I hope we go to the WAC because I can't wait for the Humanitarian Bowl. There is just something about a blue playing field and blue players' faces (sub zero) that I find irresistable. The 4,000 mile trip to Boise is also a plus for fans.
  21. As an additional way of marketing NT in Dallas, we should have an alumni association office there. This was first suggested by a greenblood friend of mine many years ago.
  22. Be careful and get approval from the University's licensing department or they might come after you. Certainly, they would want approval of art. They might not want their licensing fee of 8.25 percent.
  23. Apparently all the heat Stephens referenced upon her hiring was meant to be directed at players and assistant coaches, not opponents. It's a train wreck folks.
  24. Any scenerio that features SMU going to Dist. 6-5A football.
  25. There is an irony here, as North Texas for years was always fighting to stay up with the Louisiana schools in facilities. Louisiana used tax money for stadium expansion or construction and athletic operations. As you know, state money cannot be used for athletics in Texas. While I sympathise with Louisiana's plight, at least the thing has now come full circle.
