80% of all billboards are unreadable...sadly, this one joins the ranks of the 80 percentile. Way too busy to absorb while driving.

No disrespect to Fouts...I have a lot of time and memories tied up there, but it really is an eyesore with all the terrible advertising panels, etc.

I was looking at the new stadium on the construction cam and noticed how hideous Fouts looks in the background. Should we figure out some way to camouflage Fouts on game days? Maybe a huge net like artillery batteries use in wartime.

Can't wait for bird feathers and tissue flying all over the tailgating area.

I think it is really sad that we have a 9,200 seat arena and are thrilled to have 5,000 show up once a year for a game. I think that geography really is a big factor in basketball attendance. We sit in the Metroplex and no one really starts to think seriously about basketball until after Christmas. It's not just us...SMU, TCU and UTA suffer from the same thing.

Not saying that he is actively looking...just saying that if he is the thing could fall apart with our prized recruits dancing off with him. There are many reasons to stay, but many reasons to leave, too.

So, if JJ is seriously looking, this thing can come unraveled fast. Can't blame him...playing in front of an estimated 2,500 a game just won't cut it. Athletics has shown no ability to fill the stands, other than to schedule a few high profile teams. JJ's gotta be getting frustrated...just like the comments Josh White made about poor attendance.

For the record, Sloan did not hire Dennis Parker...he was already here when Steve go here. The celebrated duo of Al Hurley and Peter Lane hired Dennis Parker.

Best..beating Tulsa in '67 for conference championship with a full Fouts Field. Worst: 1994 ( I think ) NT vs. Vanderbilt...no one wanted to even play football that day..we lost barely....people were pouring out of the stands at halftime.

Here is what's needed: 1. Get the exes to give money instead of bad mouthing their alma mater. 2. Be consistent winners in football and basketball. 3. Market the heck out of ball games, concerts, billboards, etc. 4. Pick an image and stick to it...no 'free lancing' every time a new coach or admistrator shows up in Denton. 5. Put the whammy on the Dallas campus to use green in their color scheme. 6. Put away the stupid idea that people across the country know what the hell UNT is.

Appears to me that the athletic dept. is trying to get the word out, as I have gotten emails from Jon Burkett and have received a mailing piece concerning the caravans.

I'm sure they would be glad to accept donations for the second scoreboard...it's a cost thing, I'll bet.

Why wouldn't you? Great new coach, great new stadium and a great home schedule...other than that, I cannot come up with any reasons to buy season tickets. Oh yeah, helping the university might be fun, too.

Miller was at the green-white football game and I got to meet him. Nice size and real quiet. Told him I hoped he liked what he saw...he nodded his head. I was a little shy as to what an alum could do or say to him.

Here are a couple of facts on UNCC(as my feable memory serves me). They first started with no nickname or school fight song. The school is located on I-49, which is why they are called the Forty-niners. Their secondary nickname is Mean Green...seems that there was a good NT influence on their faculty. In fact, in the beginning they had the same fight song as us..not sure if they still do.

If Aston is the one, I wonder if Angela Ortega will come back to NT, too. I think she is currently on the UNCC staff.

Im assuming that Tim Love is the same guy who owned/owns the 'Lonesome Dove' in the stockyard area of Ft. Worth. I did the signs for the Lonesome Dove a few years back...really good guy. Where is the Love Shack located?

Fear not, yellow snow. UNT has terrible luck in recruiting hometown athletes. It's a matter of perception and wanting to get away to go to college. Give ole Dan a couple of years and I think that we might see some hometown boys stay home to play for UNT.
