No matter what numbers you throw around, Ford stadium will still be half full for games no matter who SMU plays. Basketball will be dismal for them, as they will not be able to compete with established programs. SMU will probably take the place of Baylor over the last few years in not competing, but still collecting big money from the Big East's successful programs.

Well said, Jim. While it only counts in horse shoe and grenade tossing, just think of the 'near misses' against the 'big boys', too. We may not have the number of wins we would like, but we never shyed away from scheduling the 'big boys', even when we were I-AA. Our players consistently have played in front of tens of thousands of fans in major major stadium atmospheres, so we certainly are not novices.

Word of warning: unless things have changed dramatically, don't go to Marshall. The 1988 playoff game there was a real pitiful chapter in Marshall football.

I love it...Brown and SMU have been together for less than a month and there is already a possible NCAA 'misstep.' Even though Tim Jankovich is receiving big bucks, I hope he knows what he is for.

You would think that as many schools as are mentioned in the future Alliance, the chances for at least two at large bids might not be out of the question.

The way Jankovich was treated here I can tell you he will come after us with a vengeance. I think that his treatment was one of the saddest stories in North Texas athletic history.

At least we are trending upward....remember when we hired coaches from pissant programs or assistants from D1 programs and prayed to God it would work out? Those hires were motivated by total distain by the senior administrators or total incompetence by senior administrators.
