Yeah, I don’t know what to say about that number. No way it was almost 1,000 less than the last game. Most of the lower bowl was shoulder to shoulder and then there were many seats occupied behind the buckets and even some in the middle sections of the upper deck. It looked great on TV. Maybe someone fat-fingered the keyboard.

The announcers got player names wrong all night long. Ours at least, I assume they were wrong for Alcorn State too. In addition to the North Texas State slip, one of the bozos referred to us as the Green Wave...D'oh! It's right on the jersey dude....Mean Green. SMH.

Late arriving crowd? We did pretty well attendance-wise. Over 4,300 and 922 more than last year's Texas State game. Would be nice to eclipse the Virginia game too against SHSU for our second 5,000+ game.

I don’t think I said anything about traditions. I don’t have an issue with the name Midnight Maneuvers or building team chemistry or any of that. I’m not a fan of the pirate motif and turning the IPC into a shrine for someone with zero affiliation to the university. Maybe he could have drawn inspiration from someone associated with UNT to build a stronger connection to the university for himself and the team. He can talk Leach up all he wants in team meetings, film sessions, praise his innovations, share his insights with the team however he sees fit, but the the other stuff is a bit much IMHO. Everyone else can like it, love it or whatever…I don’t.

Our football program isn't his personal platform to honor his former boss. Pirate ships, pirate hats, not for me. If he wants to honor his former boss, hang a freaking poster of him in his office. He's completely tone deaf on this one and had a chance to make it a North Texas thing and NOT a Morris thing and blew it IMHO. #Epicfail

I don't believe Coach Leach had anything to do with or a relationship with The University of North Texas, did he? Hard pass for me and a bad look with the ECU Pirates going to be a conference mate starting next year. #Fail

We actually eclipsed last year's average attendance by +22 a game even with the 8,522 LaTech game last year in the mix. Our lowest attended was 2,514 (Paul Quinn) and the highest was 5,002 (WKU). Prior to the LaTech outlier we were on pace for an 8-9% increase in average attendance. Repeat that next year and we're over 4,000 average (4052-4090). I think that will be on the low end of what we can expect next year.

So, you don't like the Ryder Cup? One part of the team aspect that I think works is it keeps players who are off the individual leaderboard engaged. Say player XYZ has played poorly the first two rounds and has not contributed any scoring to the team. He can redeem himself by putting up a good score on Sunday to help his team even though he's shot himself out of contention with his play the first two days. Plus there is a different type of pressure when you have others counting on you instead of just yourself.

I watch it. Much better field/leaderboard this week on LIV than the Honda Classic.

Halftime question for y’all. We’ve seen a lot of our conference foes. If you could add one player from our conference to our roster (we don’t give up anyone), who would it be and why? (Jelly, Kahlifa, etc.)

What's the general process here to include another varsity sport? Do you start as a club team first and then move up or is it one minute you don't have a program and the next you do? If it's the former, we have a hockey club team that seems to be decent. Would it be easier to elevate a club team to full varsity status than it is starting a new sport from scratch? Ignore the tile IX aspects for a moment. Would obviously need to be addressed, but the question is more about the process or steps to add a new varsity sport.

This team is deeper than we’ve had in the past and that’s a really good thing for us coming down the stretch.
