  1. To be honest, I have no idea how individuals get into the HOF. Are there eligibility requirements to even be considered? If so, what are they? For example, to be eligible is a student-athlete required to earn a degree from UNT and compete a minimum of three seasons or something? Who decides what individuals are inducted?
  2. Rough tournament for the lady golfers. It happens. On the bright side, it looks like Ellie Roth had a hole-in-one on a 391-yard par 4. Outstanding.
  3. I'd like to amend my season record prediction.... I know this is going on at every other school, but I don't really care about every other school. I'm sure it's just the green eye glasses, but seems like the exodus is hitting UNT hard this year. At this rate, we'll be counting heavily on true freshman and walk-ons for our first year in The American.
  4. Clue is a bit ambiguous (on purpose?). By played professionally, does this include all professional leagues (i.e. Canadian?) or just the NFL and did said play graduate from UNT or did they graduate from another school?
  5. Cody Spencer?
  6. A hypothetical for the group. If Tylor ends up at Texas Tech, will we cry tampering? I'll hang up and listen.
  7. We're always world-beaters before the season starts and optimism is usually at an all time high when we get the pads on. However, I think we are asking a lot of a new coaching staff, new system and new players at key positions. We'll be better in the second half of the season, but that's going to be the toughest stretch of our schedule. I'm between 3-9 and 4-8. Would love if we do better than that, but I think we will need a lot of breaks to fall our way to get to or above .500.
  8. I think we we need to remind ourselves every so often that, when is all said or done, for coaches, ADs, staff, etc., this is just a job or stop along their desired career path. Just like your job/career. There's nothing wrong with that. It's unusual for people to work at the same company their entire careers. With the new landscape of college sports it may be time to think about the athletes the same way. It's not bad. It's just the way it is. How many of you even knew who Tylor Perry was 3 years ago? There is a ton of talent out there. Let's go get it. In terms of timing, the old adage is you leave on a high note. The best time to move on is when you leave them with tears instead of cheers.
  9. Not the best day, but hang on to win The Bruzzy. Congrats! https://results.golfstat.com/public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=team&tid=27107
  10. That's true in almost every situation when there is a public statement released.
  11. Congrats coach and thanks for what you've done for the program and the memories...well deserved. We'll probably never find out what went into the decision-making process, but it should would be interesting to find out. There's the money obviously and we've heard about the connection to Tech. After all that, it's about winning championships and legacy, I guess. Did he feel he's accomplished all he can at UNT...that the likely-hood of winning an NCAA national championship at Tech is far greater than at UNT? Was he disappointed in or beaten down by the lack of community and student support? Or maybe the timing was just right. He feels he's leaving the program in good hands and wanted to start his own coaching tree. BTW, how many branches do you need before you have your own tree in the coaching world?
  12. Just think how awesome it is to add The University of North Texas to the legacy of NIT champions. Just an incredible day for UNT athletics.
  13. I may not sleep tonight. No, I will eventually if passing out counts (hahha). This team is so special I hope they understand. If not, they will in ten years. CHAMPIONS!!! Forever and no one can take it away from you. Thank you players and coaches for a great season and a wild ride through the post season. Drink it in!
  14. Don’t sleep on UVU. They are a gritty team and as much as I hate to say it may do a better green than yours truly.
  15. This team is insane! I was out celebrating my wife’s birthday so had to avoid all media for a couple hours. Had to DVR the game and just finished watching it. So, while all your heart rates are back to normal (maybe), I’m still bouncing off the walls. What a game. Toughest team wins!!! So proud of the way these guys never give up.
  16. With the two home NIT games, the season attendance numbers somehow ended with a whimper instead of a bang. First, the Alcorn State attendance was revised to 2,122 (down from 4,308 as initially reporting) making it the lowest attended home game of the season. No one really expected us to match last year's regular season final, but we did break the 5,000 barrier against a bad WKU team. Then the post-season. Yes, Alcorn State and Sam Houston are not Texas State and Virginia, but man, what a disappointment. Spring break, sure, but it was spring break last year too (I think). At some point we need to become a fan-base that attends to see *our* team play and not rely on our opponent to be the draw. I'm still questioning the accuracy of the Sam Houston numbers. For all 16 games, we actually saw a -4.45% reduction in average attendance. For regular season games only, we eked a 0.6% increase in average attendance. Is ESPN+ driving down attendance?
  17. I know that ratings (stars) isn't the end all be all, but why would a player with such an impressive offer list, not have any rating at all? It's not like he's flown under the radar...it appears he been right in the middle of it for a lot of teams.
  18. Didn't in the New York/New England market. Saw it all!
  19. Perhaps selective memory on my part, but it seemed that we gave up leads late in games this year and ended up losing. You could feel/see it coming and it appeared the team did too with sort of a "here we go again, we're going to lose" mentality. Flip those losses to wins and does she keep her job?
  20. WOW. WOW. WOW. Vegas Baby!
  21. I always wondered what happened to our orange seats. Now I know.
  22. FAU needs to play their game and not get sucked into letting FDU dictate the pace or they are going to get Cinderellaed. All calls will go FDU’s way.
  23. Yeah, I don’t know what to say about that number. No way it was almost 1,000 less than the last game. Most of the lower bowl was shoulder to shoulder and then there were many seats occupied behind the buckets and even some in the middle sections of the upper deck. It looked great on TV. Maybe someone fat-fingered the keyboard.
  24. Probably not enough B-Roll in and around Denton compared to Dallas.
