Ncaa Tournament Notebook: Unt Gets Tv Call Over Baylor
keith replied to gruu's topic in Mean Green Basketball
According to the DirecTV schedule, it's *the* game on CBSe (380) and CBSeHD (390) for that timeslot. Go Mean Green! Keith -
Hahaha...I think it really went like this... Keith

Great D-Rc Editorial On Bataille/jackson Battle

For those of us that want to express our vote of no confidence in the leadership of Mr. Jackson, what is best way to have our voices heard and who do we express it to? My opinion....this man is bad for UNT. Why is he never available for comment when the press asks? Does he have another job that keeps him busy or something? Keith -
Whoooo Hoooooo! Way to go Mean Green. Sun Belt Champions. Congrats to the players and coaches. Let's keep this party going. Keith

Are we the only school to bring any fans? The green does show up well on TV, so mission accomplished there. Keith

I agree 100%. Mr. Jackson, fairly or not, just seems to be bad for the University and not the person to lead us through this important phase . Keith -

I think DD signed about 10 tight ends in every recruiting class. Keith -
Then the radio announcers are idiots and would fit in well here. Keith

Unt's Place After The Next Expansions Are Done
keith replied to untjim1995's topic in Mean Green Football
We used to be conference mates with Boise State and Nevada. No one cared at the time and made the same arguments about them that are now made about our current conference mates. We need to focus on ourselves and on making North Texas high on (or at least on) everyone else's conference mate wish list. Keith -
At least we got us some of the best fans on the planet. We are so lucky. Keith

Many times the first lead the winning team gets is on the last play of the game. The objective is to win the game. Every game -- whether it is the first game of the year or the last game of the year. Use whatever weapons you have to achieve that objective. We held them to 3 points in the second half. The momentum was ours and everyone in the stands knew it. There were a lot of nervous nellies standing most of the 4th quarter. Personally, I'd rather see students come in, hit the books and finish school in 4 years and play as much during those 4 years as their skill and ability with allow them to and then move on with their lives. Saving players for what the might do or be in 3 or 4 years is a crap shoot. There is a long history of players we invested 2 or 3 years in that never set foot on the field. That is the waste. Keith

Our wide receivers were a problem this year? Keith

Ding, ding, ding, ding!!! We have a winner. I'm right there with you. We consistently lost the TO battle and that killed us. Hang on to the ball, stop throwing picks and get some of our own. It started with an interception at ASU. There were a lot of puckered you-know-whats in the stands in the 4th quarter. We had our chances but did not capitalize when we needed to. Keith

Beautiful day. Sunny with very few clouds, but it is a bit windy. We'll have to see what that does to the passing game. Kickoff in 27 minutes. Go Mean Green. Keith

A Riley Question For Some Of You Experts
keith replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
2009 Cumulative Stats are available here.... http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle...TCLID=204788005 I think the primary reason we're 2-9 is that we are -16 on turn-overs. It's hard to overcome that. We've given it up a lot, but haven't taken it away very much. We've only had 4 picks. Riley's had 14 INTs to 9 TDs. He's also had 5 rushing TDs. I couldn't find how many fumbles. It may be in there somewhere. I also agree that the positives for Riley currently outweigh the negatives. It he stays healthy, I think his name will be well represented in the North Texas record book. Keith -

If you are referring to KSM, he's in custody. If you are referring to OBL, rotting in a cave may be the next best thing. The point is, neither one of these pieces of *&^% can do anything without their foot soldiers. Convince the foot soldiers to put down their weapons and it's a different world. Keith -

In WWII we dropped leaflets behind enemy lines. The military should load up all these videos on USB memory sticks and drop them out of planes. Maybe they'd get the message that there is no where to hide. Keith -
In my particular situation, I did not intentionally stop in an unsafe place nor am I suggesting that you stop in a way that is obviously unsafe. I did exactly what you suggested. I felt that stopping where I was would have been unsafe for the officer. Narrow, two lane road with no shoulders ... basically pavement and then trees. I probably could have moved half the width of my car off the pavement resulting in blocking about half of my travel lane. So, I turned on my hazards and proceeded slowly for approximately 1/4 mile to a parking lot. I could tell she wasn't happy. I apoligized and said I didn't have anywhere to pull over safely. She informed me, quite emphatically, that that was *not* my decision to make. Further, by pulling into the parking lot I actually put her (exposed her) to more danger than I would have if I would have just stopped in the street. As I understood it, it was something about the way she had to position her vehicle or approach my vehicle as a result of not stopping on the side of the street. Also, remember that video a few months about from a dashboard cam where the police officer forced a mini-van off the road because the driver didn't stop soon enough? That driver, with kids in the car, was looking for a safe place to stop. I think all the cops need to get together and decide once and for all what they want us to do. Keith
