  1. Helping you succeed If you are a talented student with high financial need, tuition and fees will not be an issue at the University of North Texas. UNT’s new program, Emerald Eagle Scholars, has been created for students who are academically talented, as shown by their admission acceptance into UNT, who have an average freshman class SAT score of 1105. Qualifying students will also have limited financial resources, making it difficult to fulfill their dreams of a university education. They are getting quite a bit of money, but it isn't a full ride. It is a great program that gives UNT free publicity. It also shows she can raise some money if she wants to.
  2. I went back and read several articles on the program this morning. The students are from homes that make less than 40,000 a year. I not sure when or where gifted was changed from talented, but the original statements stated talented. In addition, I found other programs called emerald. They had a much higher GPA to go with it.
  3. Well you could look at it as we now will have 400 more students at the football games. If they bring a couple of friends and their mentor, then we will have 1600 more at the games. One could also look at the amount of money she raised and implemented a new program. Donors want to know that the university is doing what it should be doing. Successful programs bring additional programs, which translates to additional fundraising.
  4. It looks like they are both Tuesday games.
  5. Both of those games should be pretty good. Going 2-10 last year isn't going to get us on TV.
  6. What do you think about the last sentence, "The new Southwest Conference."
  7. It looks like they are spending some money on new coaches, Elmassian played both QB and DB and Perkins played running back at Wy and lead them to two back to back championships.
  8. Kenan Expansion: The Tarheel Spin Machine in Motion Sounds kind of famillar.
  9. That is a good point.
  10. I found a 2002 spanish teacher ad for Hockaday and the base pay was 46,500.
  11. I like the way they are playing a team like Mn. I agree they should be able to beat them.
  12. I just tried reading their ticket sales and and season tickets are 385 plus 750 per seat. Northend zone club are 560 and they are sold out. So, four of those seats would be over 5000.
  13. I am thinking o line or d line.
  14. I agree it is evolving. The swimming pool use to be over by the union, compare that to the rec center of today. I used to lift weights in the old womens gym. I think we have come along way, we still need to improve and we will.
  15. I just looked at future schedules and I didn't see UNT listed anywhere. Baylor is actively seeking ooc games 2010-2015. TCU also has openings. Right now it is a given SMU has openings but are we working on making this happen, who knows.
  16. man, what a great idea. I really hope this works out for us.
  17. Gas prices have been the a hot topic in Fla this past month. They are wondering if people are going to pay for diesel (around 4.50 a gal now) or sit at home and watch the game. When gas hits five a gal, and it will, how many are going to drive a couple of hundred miles, both ways, to watch a game? Right now probably quite a few will say they will. However, how many are going to do this when it hits six a gal? I hope the gas prices will bring people to the table and set up some closer rivals.
  18. Recently, I have seen several NORTH TEXAS AND MEAN GREEN CLUB window stickers, while driving on I35. I didn't use to see any and now it seems they are everywhere. We need to increase this kind of of sighting to change those young minds about UNT.
  19. If not the 1a, how about Indiana, Minnesota, Vanderbilt and so on... this would get good exposure and a win.
  20. I am with you, I paid for tickets in March.
  21. Agree-we need more games that are closer to home and more home games.
  22. The improved offense should help rest the D.
  23. We need to go into conference with a record that says we can win. The so called money games aren't building confidence in the offense or defense, and they aren't big traveling games. When the offense goes 3 and out and the defense is on the field forever, is that fun football to watch? It is when it is the other team going 3 and out.
