  1. You guys are absolutely NUTS! UA stuff is way too expensive and believe me....UNT doesn't get any more than the same 4%. But then again, do the math...that is a a lot of money! ha! ha! ha!
  2. I know I'm the eternal optomist but I keep thinking the D will show up some time soon!! I mean, dang, they have had some practice against the good and bad offensive fronts. Don't you think they will figure out something. If they read this board they have to get a little fire from all the "dogging" that's done! GMG!!
  3. Sorry greenjoe, I think the contest was for the "girls" to go to the SMU homecoming game this Saturday. Although, Jody did mention UNT was just up the road. Don't be mistakened, Jody is a TCU supporter all the way!
  4. THANKS! for the hard and dedicated work FFR. I took care of the Model A, the cannon and the bell in 75-78 and loved every minute of all of it. I'd like to volunteer time and money if the chance comes up. Course I was draggin' the bell (the real bell) behind my vehicle when it was parked over night in the Ramada parking lot in north Austin when the UT fans stold it and painted it with orange and white with the lovely enscription 24-10. I can't be trusted. I did work straight through the night to paint it mean green again. We were ale to take the Model A in to DR the stadium at the time. too much fun!!
  5. I didn't win anything big. Just a chance to call the defensive plays for one series in the next game. Let me think.... Ok, an oil change at Kwik Kar in Denton.
  6. The best part of the show for me was I won the mascot trivia question. Q: What is the mascot of Lubbock High? A: Westerners Interesting...I wonder why that was the question. Are we recruiting anyone from Lubbock High? Wonder if they will be at the game on Saturday??? I'm not trying to start rumors, I just thought it was interesting.....
  7. As politely as I can, I'd like to mention something that confuses me too. When the offense comes off the field either after a series or during a time out Coach Dodge interfaces with them completely. He's obviously running the show. However, it couldn't be more different when the defense does the same. Coach Dodge doesn't appear to be anywhere to be found. It's not as though he is pre-occupied talking with the offense or other coaches, he is just know where to be found. Now, I understand he wants to leave the job up to the DC, but he doesn't appears to be concerned at all, which am sure is not the case. He's the head coach and I know he is interested. It's just an observation.
  8. Cool sign/flag! CLC license may be hard to get past, at least quickly, but maybe shopmeangreen can help us!
  9. Do you know where they will be? Like, what section they will be setting in? I suppose they won't be on the patio?
  10. I'm "all-in" and will see you there on Saturday too!
  11. And I noticed once Vizza went ot the sidelines to get a towel to dry his hands and "they" couldn't find one. Hmmmm.
  12. That's cool J-Mo Fan!! I hope your son plays football for UNT some day and grows up to be all that he wants to be. We need kids at school at UNT that were fans when they were 10 years old. You are obviously a great influence on him. Keep the pride and tradition going! My hats off to you and your son!! GO MEAN GREEN!!
  13. [ Give Todd Dodge a little more credit than that. A true professional will separate work (coaching) from family. TD will make the right decision and do what is best.
  14. OK, now I am in full laughter. This is all too funny! On a serious (at least an attempt) we should talk about and include any high school that could send us a good player. Recruiting, in a big way, starts with the high school coach's opinion of a college program. Don't you think thier opinion would be a little better and we would get a little better recruits (or chances at recruits) if we noticed they were out there. Don't spit in the face of your next best recruit by ignoring them. However, we are in college now!!
  15. I believe the best ranking I recall is when NT was 13th in either the caoches poll or the AP poll in . Fry used to cast a 1st place vote for NT in the coaches poll which makes me think it was the coaches poll. We were independent at the time which made it a little Notre Dame'ish.
  16. I was treated with respect and the hospitality was great. It's a weird place you know, there is an open container law. We found a shade tree to set under just in the tailgate area and proceeded to have a beer when a guy walked up with two cups. Even though they were red he suggested, since the police may frown on open containers, if we put the beer in these cups to prevent any issues. Everywhere I looked I saw red cups, no open containers any where. I took his advice, used the cups, and was very grateful. I've always heard the less threat you are the more they like you!
  17. I am 100% behind Dodge, will be for a long time.... I just don't agree with throwing a pass on 1st and goal, especially with the hind sight that it allows a record-setting return for a 100 yard interception touchdown!
  18. Unfortunately we can see that TD is, in fact, a mortal. Who would throw a pass when they were 1st and goal? Wouldn't a couple running plays make a little sense to somebody? No, we have to give the Hogs one more chance to score. Sure, time was a factor. I am pretty sure we had at least 1 time out left. I can't really remember, it's all just a blur now.
  19. But you are giving TD no credit for the integrity, skill, will, and ability to be on top faster than the average "new" coach. Anybody that thinks he is average is NUTS! We have a winner coach and it's gonna be great fun to support him and watch him obtain the same outcomes professionally that we want athletically at UNT! I think we are all saying the same thing but with emphasis on different parts. GMG!
  20. Outstanding post! Keep thinking, I like that!!!
  21. I just love to see more licensing activity around UNT. Good job and THANKS!
  22. I have to admit I'm one of the newbies. I have been around a long time. I am a UNT grad. While at NTSU I was a walk-on with Hayden Fry, a wrestler with Coach Maughn, a cheerleader, a Talon, NT40 coordinator, a peer counselor, and RA and the list goes on, oh yeah, I did go to class a little . I'm currently a proud member of the North Texas Exes alumni organization. So, it wasn't SLC that excited me.. It was UNT athletics and the need to get more involved with a good group of folks that I have a lot in common with!! I have been to hundreds of games over the years and watched pretty much from the fringes. I got on GMG and I saw several things. Good solid insider information, hilarious humor, great analyticial posts, and folks that may squabble a little once in a while but they all support the advancement of UNT Athletics. Then along came TD. WOW! With all that, I had to join. I'm trying not to jump in and act like I have been here for ever. I'd love to be one of the inside GMGreeners but I know that comes with time. So....thanks for letting me be one of the New Ones! Cut me some slack when I can't fingure out just what to say and how to say it. Not to mention how to work all the buttons and whistles. My hat is off to you veterans! You make GMG the great site that it is!! Keep up the good work, or should I say fun??!! GO MEAN GREEN!!!
  23. As much as I like Hooter's I support the move too. Way too much noise and far less of a crowd than I expected. Now, maybe the support and poor crowd was our fault. We will see about that. Were there specials for fans???? I sure didn't get one if there was. Will there be specials at Sweetwater??
