  1. I suppose you have to work hard to find "love" wherever you can. Jesse, how many of those guys would you sell out to in order to get one rich client??
  2. Hey bud, we are in this rodeo to win the SBC. I am interested in the SBC moving up too but we need to worry about the only thing we can really control and that is U N T !! I appreciate the comment that UNT will run away with the unofficial title of SBC recruiting championship!! Call it narrow sighted but I miss the respect and competitive edge we used to have. I'm still chapped over only winning the SBC with the talent we had several years ago. I want to win the SBC and a few non-conference games.
  3. That is toooo funny! I'm going to use that one!! (and give credit of course)
  4. Now that's what I'm talkin' bout!!! That's a great Christmas gift!!
  5. thanks for the information! good to know.
  6. OK, what's the significance of the green dot on the back of all the NFL QB's helments?? Anybody know??
  7. Actually, if we all (and we do) think SMUt is a sinking ship then why would that rivalry be any better for us and football fans in the metroplex (not to mention the TV contracts) than TCU. I agree, what about TCU? Maybe a little harder to turn consistant wins but it would be a great agreement!
  8. Pinky promise??
  9. Cooley, love your logic! My employer will match my contribution to a not for profit organization (like UNT) and I fully plan to utilize that benefit. We have over 100,000 living alums in the DFW region. We have over 170,000 living alums. Tehre are MANY companies and individual that will contribute that are not in the 170,000 count. The development office has this down to a fine science and they are getting us the money. We must do what we can too!!
  10. I'd love to tease and poke fun at these guys but......I'll join in [more] after they get their new HC and it's not TD!! I don't like anything that goes underground as long as what it appears SMUt's HC search has.
  11. I pray to Fry you are correct! (a little humor is always good ) However, I'm not thinking this is too funny. I'm not comfortable until SMUt gets their own coach and his name is anything other than Todd Dodge. I don't think anything would surprise me anymore!
  12. I believe TD did say he was interested in recruiting another RB or two. Would a transfer make sense? Instant impact but short stay. I like the idea. A good RB helps the passing game, and a good passing game helps a good RB. Rocket science huh?
  13. I'm good for a grand now and a grand committment over a year or so. Certainly not big bucks to a lot or you but that is a huge committment for me.
  14. Yea!, Sunbelt may just do like FIU did and give tickets away
  15. I totally agree!! But I am going to miss Fouts. I played football (walk-on '74/'75) on it and I cheered (Cheerleader '78) a year on it. It is part of tradition and you can bet I'll walk around in it a while and take a lot of pictures before it turns in to dirt! I really believe some funding for the new stadium could come out of a planned demolition and sales of pieces parts as they go. I'd buy a square of the turf, unless they can move that to the new field. I'm tearing up......NOT! We need progress and a new stadium so we can start some new rich traditions!! GMG!
  16. I understand and am as cautious as possible but....In the world of A&E as well as construction companies, you will not get their attention nor will they take a RFQ serious if they think the funding is not available or at least appropriately planned. It's a small industry at that level and they wouldn't even talk to us otherwise. The funding detail is usually discussed in the RFQ when it goes out. We didn't get the priviledge of seeing that level of the detail. I seriously believe we have more funding than what has been shared with us since we are still in the silent phase of fund raising. I will feel better when I see some of the better company RFQs posted back to UNT. That will tell me whether or not they took us serious. I'm certainly still welcoming T. Boone Pickens to drop by a little Christmas present for our new stadium if he so desires!! GMG!!
  17. Cool, I can make 2 of the road games pretty easily. Looking forward to Rice!
  18. You are correct!! The deadline for sumbission was today. Cooley or others might be able to gather details!!
  19. I know it's like taking money out of one pocket and moving it the other....but why doesn't the state (I don't know Transportation or some division) help with funding? Can't we sell the land they to them for the easment for a pretty penny?? I know....UT and ATM would go nuts to give up some f their money tohelp us get a new stadium. OK Chancelor Jackson, get that political MoJo going in Austin.
  20. Thanks SUMG. It was a good clip. I think Dodge has it on the ball! If momma's happy, everybody's happy. Keep up the good recruiting TD.
  21. Agreed! I don't care much at all for the UCF stadium. Looks old style and not very inviting at first glance. Akron looks easily expandable and much more modern. But then again, what are we looking for? A bump in the ticket price would likely be OK the first year to give TD and Co. a chance to turn the program in to a winner.
  22. I'm not sure they pick up as many recruits from their coach as they do the reputation of their academic profile. Oh wait, we have those too!! We have a good coach and a great academic profile. Did I mention the discussion of a new stadium?? Sure feels good to be able to say that. Now, what concerns me a tiny smidge is that they do seem to be very quiet about the search and they seem to mention TD's name a little too often. I agree, the week aint over yet. Sure wish it was!!!
  23. Good question. I think Texas Tech spent about $61M just to renovate thier stadium and I don't think they added any seats. More nice skyboxes but no increased set count. Now, can we start from ground up on a new facility and spend less money than a renovation and get what we want? Not sure, but I am excited about a new stadium! I think the recruits know about it too. If TD doesn't use that carrot I would be surprised. Something is working!
  24. NT91, I tend to agree with you but...to twist this thread a little, I think you are about to feel the squeeze (maybe you consider it that or mabe you don't) of phasing out NT and going strictly with UNT. The description told to me was, "everybody knows UCLA, USC etc. they will know UNT". What are your thoughts about using UNT instead of NT?? Do you think that will be accepted by new and old alumni alike??
  25. What makes up the "Other Income" column?? Look at Texas Tech's Mike Leach. "Other Income" is more than his salary.
