Ladies and gentleman...it's time to start the wagers. Will he go or will he stay??? You know, he has meant a lot to the players and the state. I kind of hope he stays to see them though a bit longer. But really at the heart of this blog is Mean Green Football...whay care about anything else??? Go Mean Green!!

Nice find SUMG. The ponyboard thinks this is a done deal too. It's going to be boring for me now. I have gained a great deal of intertainment spending time on the ponyboard and watching them squirm. I'm happy to see metroplex football get a hot in the arm. We have the making of a pretty good football nucleus here in the metroplex. I guess I'm happy for $MUT. Now, just sign up with us for a good long term agreement to play. DallasGreen step away from the computer and don't share your negative thoughts Love ya man!

Duh....Of course he has no ill will against SMU. He couldn't wait to be fired. He wanted out worse than Orsini wanted to fire him. He's a happy camper now. He's got his money and he will land something when he wants to. He's not a bad coach or a bad guy, he was just at a bad place.

Eagle1855, have I told you how much better I like your personal photo? Now that was Oprah's greatest make-over. Love it!! -
Smu Insiders Think It's June Jones
GreenAlums replied to ParksAndRecRick's topic in Mean Green Football
I tend to agree with you but who else do they have?? The have got to be seriously concerned about recruiting and the success of their program for years to come. JJ can at least get a hefty raise, turn some heads in recruiting and be somewhat of the big splash that SMU thinks they are worthy of. After JJ's showing in the bowl game his real estate value may have just dropped too!! -
I agree the Green Brigade deserves more support than we currently provide (although I'm sure some of you help them a lot!) I bet in short order we could get enough money/support together to help them with GREEN FLAGS TO BE USED DURING THE ENTIRE HALF-TIME PERFORMANCE. I'M JUST NOT A RAINBOW KIND-OF GUY!!! GMG!

Eagle1855, you just gotta change your personal photo! Just teasing but she/it really does give me the heebie jeebies!! If that is your point....mission accomplished!

Smu Insiders Think It's June Jones
GreenAlums replied to ParksAndRecRick's topic in Mean Green Football
I heard over the weekend that JJ had some baggage too. I don't know enough about some of his personal issues to discuss them so I won't. Thi swill be a good one to watch. My bet is, $mut is really after this guy. -
It can be hard to tell in a picture but the color doesn't look right even if some of the branding logos are up to date. Just remember, the Athletic department approves EVERYTHING you see here, bad colors, old logos and all. Of course their current inventory can be sold until it's gone. It's good to see UNT spirit wear out there!

I would be more than happy about the challenge. I sincerely wish they were on our schedule NOW! -
Petition/campaign To Get On The Fathead List
GreenAlums replied to Bryan316's topic in Mean Green Football
It's got to start somewhere! If we don't push hard we'll never see what is needed more, production of UNT spirit items or people asking for them. -
Outgoing Muts Players Discuss Program
GreenAlums replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
I'm glad to know this was their high point because we will all have to agree it was one of our lowest points. I hated that loss more than most! -
I think sales is what may "cure all" but we need to figure out what comes first, (marketing or production) and DO IT! Good marketing will create the demand. Production will promote the provide the product for the shelves and also create sales and there you have it. CLC alone is just a part of the outsourcing we have chosen. How much of the total program of spirit sales do we want to outsource....or bring in house? It's a business decision the university needs to make. But first, they need to understand it to be the priority it needs to be!
-
It was "Fathead", and of course when I checked.......I was not surprised. I did waste my time looking though. No UNT stuff. I think it even broke their search engine when I tried to search for UNT or Nort Texas or Mean Green!! I'm the fathead for even dreaming they would have something!!!
-
Is that a "Fathead" or whatever those things are called. Does "Fatehead" do any UNT stuff??

A very Merry Christmas to all on the board! Maybe someone with access should go to the pony board and wish them a Merry Christmas!
-
Yep, pretty corny.....but I like it! Hope there wasn't sarcasm or a few jabbs at anyone that I missed. I got a kick out of it. You may be on to something. I like the idea of some sort of a ceremony before the game where we, the crowd, raise the claw and bless the game plan. Maybe it could be lead by the assistant coaches just after the coin toss. Or possible the players. Now that's novel, get the coaching staff to get the crowd started!!! I like it!!!! I know there will be the naysayers that will sound out, "the coaches have to focus on the game, the players are too busy..need to get their game face on" blah, blah, blah. I still like it!
-
Oh, maybe just one more thing to go along with UNTflyer's request.....a new stadium would be nice. Ok, maybe next Christmas.
-
Be careful ntexeagle, doing a good deed like that will likely get more hats sent to you than you expected! I for one would like the priviledge of buying you a hat right now! Nice job!! FLY HIGH! GO MEAN GREEN!!

Mad Hatter, reading your post and just hearing and feeling the excitement in your post did for me what evident school spirit will do for any UNT alum, I got excited too!!! Thanks for the "claw" when you saw the flag!! It is a statement and a post like this that I know you are a true UNT fan! I would have done the same thing!! FLY HIGH! GO MEAN GREEN!

CLC has a little to do with it. Mostly it's because we don't sign an agreement with a company that wants to do more than do on-line sales and sell at events. That's quick easy cash for them and a lot less paperwork. We (UNT) need to sign an agreement with a company that will do a full sales campaign for us. What two schools in the DFW do you see the least amount of spirit wear on those kiosks in the mall. SMU and UNT. Guess what?? Both UNT and SMU have the same company signed to do spirit sales....at games and on-line. It is a lot OUR fault, not CLC and/or sales. We have over 170,000 living alumni and over 100,000 of those live in the DFW area. Don't tell me they and their kids and maybe evern their friends wouldn't buy something if it were in the stores or the mal kiosks. As our fellow poster shopmeangreen if you want to know the truth of it all.

I Gotta Wonder About The Tre Newton Rumors
GreenAlums replied to emmitt01's topic in Mean Green Football
Although UNT is not at a BCS level there is plenty visability for Tre to show his talent and easily move the the NFL. Maybe we can get Mean Joe Green to talk to Nate and say, "hey, Tre can make it to the NFL through UNT...I did"! There is nothing wrong with playing at UNT and working under a guy that developed him as a quality HS football player. We (UNT) are not chopped liver guys! Act like winners, be winners and we will attract winners!! Let's start to get the kids in our backdoor! GO MEAN GREEN! -
It's Evidently Official Lacroix Has Resigned
GreenAlums replied to OldTimer's topic in Mean Green Football
I don't think it is anybody's best interest to keep the "Fire RM" stories going since we are in a more visable recruiting campaign than we are used to. With DD everything was "hush hush" until the last minute. Now, TD seems to use the committment stories to keep us in the forfront of visabliltiy for potential players. I really like the TD approach becasue I always got tired of the appearance that UNT wasn't doing anything on the recruitment fronts. The bad part is, we are watched and exposed more to the media, the kids, and the recruits parents. We need to be on our best behavior. Suck it up and let's land all of our prospects. Let's act like winners in order to get winners on our team. No, I am NOT running for any political positions! best regards to all my friends on GMG.com!
