  1. Here's a twist boys and girls, we need an equestrian program so we can bring in 10-15 little rich girls (and a few rich little boys ) with their rich parents (its not a cheap sport to compete in grade and high school by any means) and give them scholarships. That's how several schools have help compete/satisfy Title 9 and APR. The English and Western equestrian competetions in elementary and high school produce very smart little rich girls that can make an immediate impact on donor money (from their parents) and academic levels in an athletic program. Trust me! Dr. B. and RV, we don't need a vet program to produce a great varsity equestrian sport at UNT. I will give you names of people that will donate time and money, as well as a professional trainer that would come to work for you as a program developer tomorrow. Horses are donated all the time to schools with an equestrian program. I know a barn on 380/Naylor that will engage in discussions for the facility. Not football, but I assure you, it will impact football in a positive way!! Are baseball players smarter on the average?? Let's fix the problem!
  2. Now Go_UTA...be truthful...did you or would you have voted to reinstate the football program at UTA? I'm sort of just teasing you but this is said like a true non-football school follower Athletics teaches disciplie and leadership in college just as well as it does in high school. Different students benefit at a different level. If you can get in to Harvard and could afford it you probably wouldn't have UTA nor UNT as your first choice. Somewhre in there is a twisted bit of logic, all the while trying to remain politically correct.
  3. Your criticism and relentless RV bashing is really getting old. Do you always rally around the folks this well that we pay to keep our best interests in mind. Geezz...what did RV really ever do to you??
  4. I don't want to speak for ArkansasEagle but, I believe that when the Exes Alum organization recently heard the concerns a helping hand went out. I certainly hope that's the way ArkansasEagle sees it. The structure of chapter support changed recently and I know it will be a benefit to the all up-start chapters. There are some exciting things planned that I hope we can all enjoy! Glory to the Green!
  5. WOW!, compared to everyone else on the list we must have been pretty far behind on the minimum requirements, whatever they are???. We didn't start with any more scholarships did we? We sure lost a lot. Surely we just lose for next year and we don't have to send anybody walking this year?? Hopefully we won't lose the one or two we have to offer a walk-on this year. Man, this seems like it could be a way for the big guys to once again keep us down. You can't tell me scholastically we are that far behind anybody!!
  6. Oh...good!! For a second I didn't know what kind of "toobing" he was talking about
  7. Good post, nice perspective and I totally agree. Improvement can't be characterized with just wins or losses but that's exactly what we are judged by. Wish it were more fair!!
  8. Gotta find a way to get 6 wins. Pull what ever out of where ever....gotta have 6 wins!!!
  9. Daddy, can we please go back this year?? Please, Please....huh?? Please??
  10. In my little ugly mean green head I can't find much disappointment either. Problem is, they have a bench.... Steve
  11. I know, what an idiot. He would have made a good governor...maybe. I think LSU is going to take advantage of us but hopefully nobody get's hurt. I'm still of the mindset to hope we can at least impress the country with a good showing.
  12. I attended the ring ceremony and I have to say it was a a pretty impressive event. Interesting statistics shows a pretty proud student base; maybe growth in pride and spirit UNT has always needed more of. The Jostens folks said we sold 200 rings out of the approximately 600 students that qualified. They said that UNT sold more rings and more students attended the ring than any college of our size that Jostens services. Jostens said we should be proud of that kind of a committment to the school. That is a pretty exciting core of school spirit if you ask me. I thought the idea of having the Talons there to lead in the alma mater was fantastic. Next year I'd love to see them decked out in full dress Talon spirit unis, whatever that might be. Maybe Boomer, the Bell and the Model A could be on hand the lawn for pictures. I was proud that McConnell tower was lighted green in honor of the student successes and victory in academic accomplishments. The students were very proud to have Derrick present them with their rings. One students family came all the way from Florida just to attend and be a part of the new tradition. Dr.B had a lot to do with making the event happen. Derrick and staff did a great job in planning and executing a super school event! UNT is a great place!!
  13. From what I have been told, TXDot may be buying some of the land where Fouts sits but, if so, I don't think the land will be used for work critical to their process. The exit ramp for Avenue D is the focus of their work and both Fouts and Murchison are clear of any critical changes being done.
  14. Ok, that makes sense. He's trying to create odds that make it worth him betting on UNT and winning more money!!
  15. Make them mirror images so they both fly forward, to the front of the car!
  16. Which two players? Any media/police reports on these football players?
  17. Emmitt, no don't
  18. Maybe we have gone in to another silent phase!
  19. ipd054, i'd love to be able to purchase one of the magnets when they may be available. If I'm not mistakened, the Flying Worm is not trademaked, patented, or does not have any other licensing protection so we should be good to go, right? I also don't think there is a CLC issue with it either, right? Can't wait to get one!
  20. According to RV, it's a rumor. The TxDOT project will affect Avenue D access and the entry to the campus. Armadillo and Fouts are actually safe. Glad the Armadillo is safe, Fouts is another story!
  21. Thanks, I'll take a look!
  22. GAG me!!! I couldn't even finish it. Just think, those poor immature fools are soooooo proud of that. So fitting and appropriate. They fit on the Don Juan Ho show. Were they inspired by Hawaii's best June Jones??? That's funny right there, I don't care who you are...Lord I'm sorry, forgive me, be with the Pygmies in New Guinea!!! LOL
  23. Voted "The most logical post for the most tragic of incidents". Really, robbing a taco shop????? I'm with you on that one. Still tragic!
  24. The first one is mine to buy! It goes to JD just to see how it looks on his car.
  25. JD, I think the Flying Worm would be great! I think you told me you have a little homework to do before you get the go-ahead to do the magnetic emblem!! The car does speak for itself but the worm would be a nice addition. I think ShopMeanGreen should design and sell both magnetic emblems (and other designs). I'll never forget when I went to the Arkansas game last year. I saw about every car have one size or another "hog" magnetic emblems posted on them. Looked pretty good! We don't seem to have any of those to display.
