  1. I bet you are right about that. Anybody got any inside scoop on Tre'? Is he still working out the first string defense?? In the day, I can remember being fresh meat for Walter Chapman (God rest his sole). It's not easy bein' a hotdog at a Harley rally!
  2. BonfireBrian, congrats and thanks for attending the LSU game to represent the core of committed fans of North Texas football. I'm sure you went there with plenty apprehension but it sounds like it worked out well. Thanks again!!
  3. I went to the Texas Tech game too because my daughter is a Freshman out there. The post was pretty accurate. One thing missing was the absolute negative fan support I saw by SMU. So, Poneez, let's talk about fan support. I'll bet you a sandwich UNT took more fans to LSU that SMU took to Lubbock. My guess you'll drop this argument pretty fast. YOur fan base is pathetic unless its a sure win, convenient and the "right crowd" will see them there. Still just a status thing, I guess, at SMU.
  4. This is a very concerning, or at least questioning observation. Just like hiring employees, you win a few and miss a few in the interview process. But this is a little different. Whether its a talent, desire or injusry issue, it's still there.
  5. I completely agree! I don't want to take away from the content of the story because it seems Lance deserves the kudos...but..the article is just well written. In the article facts are facts and even the tough points about the program are dealt with fairly and positively. I just like reading the FWST articles. I just like what I see there!!
  6. Now that is a great article about a great player, person and man. Go Lance!
  7. Texas Tech didn't have classes today either. Jones Stadioum had over a foot of water and the drainage failed and the fire department had to come in and pump the field. No chance of cancelling the $Mut game, it's still on.
  8. If nothing else the mud may re-align the stars. That's a start..... We need something else to happen our way on this one! GO MEAN GREEN!
  9. Filler article, slow media day......
  10. I thought I heard that it would verr to the east like that due to a strong high pressure system coming in from the north west. And of course, it will deminish when it hits land and not stay a cat 4.
  11. Hypothetically that sounds good but you are forgetting that Denton has very little tourism and as a result very little hotel activity. It would have to be raised 16 bazillion percent over two lifetimes. Denton will need to dramatically support development and tourism (like this stadium) before any real tourism activity will occur. Denton has advanced light-years since I was in school there in the late 70's. Unfortunately, it has light-years more to go before it realizes where to put it's support, development and financial backing.
  12. Classy post
  13. Good observation!
  14. Wouldn't it be sad to win the game against LSU and then not get the opportunity to gloat a little at the radio show????
  15. SUMG would e a great choice! Can't rattle him and he knows the team!
  16. Just think, we could have offered the (our) stadium to Houston (if we had the new one) for some cash this weekend, don't know how much.....and....played LSU this weekend for the $700K. A 2-fer! Yikes, wonder how many UNT students and Dentonites would attend that game while we were at Tiger stadium...hypothetically of course???
  17. I'm going (my own free will) to watch Tech RIP SMU this weekend! You'll get the same chance...It'll be worth it!
  18. Pretty nice article. Thanks BV
  19. Very interesting! Sure wish we could have helped them out. I think....
  20. Why?? Who are they playing??
  21. Can you slow your avatar down a little?? She's making my head spin since I can't keep from watching her
  22. As I looked through the pics that Trud1966 posted I thought the same thing. Man, the Cotton Bowl looks a lot like the motif at Fouts.
  23. BOR's action will be quick. I believe it's a done deal with them, Dr B probably wont' lose any time doing her part. The one thing that concerns me is any attempt by the student body to call fowl on any promotions being in violation of the rules of the referendum. This could slow things down alot!
  24. Sorry, I am done with body bag games for a while. I don't know if I hate losing more than not being able to run through plays and work out the kinks without getting killed. There has to be something said about building confidence and being able to work through timing issues without the distraction that comes with playing a freakin' LSU. Maybe have a Texas State (maybe I should re-think that) or some managable team just the first game would be good, just something that can provide some practice and encouragement fot the team and the coaches. Then a mid-major that would do a home and home with us could be used to increase the speed of the game. More Army and Navy would be cool. No UT, LSU, Arkansas, blah blah blah crap! At least not for now. I just don't know how to get around the money issue.
