I know everyone on this board realizes this but the stadium will be built for the future of UNT and North Texas Athletics and not just for this team, or even the next coach and players that come through. UNT has as many exciting things happening as any other major University in the nation. I just attended the ground breaking ceremony for the new Chemistry building, a LEED silver and hopefully gold certified building. Folks, this is cool and it is big! We have many academic building accomplishments on campus. This president does not feel a new stadium is out of balance with our academic accomplishments. Bottom line, Dr. Bataille and company now know how behind we are in many areas. One only knows that after becoming committed to changing the situation. No "head in the sand" mentality for this administration. Much research has gone in to "what UNT needs". It is completely understood the stadium is top priority. We have to spend some time in Austin fighting for our piece of funding on research and many other lopsided legistlation that goes on down there. Go Mean Green, Join the Mean Green Club, Join the Alumni Association and be a strong North Texas Football fan by being a continued season ticket holder!!

Michael, thanks for putting this together. I'll be there. Will any other invitation materials be sent out? Let me know if there is anything I can help with. Pledge class 1977 (I think...I'll have to check my bell )

Buying A Daily Ad To Support The Stadium Vote
GreenAlums replied to rcade's topic in Mean Green Football
Where we are today, they will soon be. Passion now will be increased with knowledge later. Students today will be alumni tomorrow. This vote is far reaching and it is pretty scarey (and intersting that we must) to stand by and do nothing. But, if that's what we need to do, let's do it. I agree with ShopMeanGreen about voting in Austin. If/when the students pass the vote, we can support their interest for a new stadium in an arena that we may be pretty connected. I think I heard that the vote in Austin may be just a formality but I would leave nothing to chance. There are plenty schools in Texas that understand how important a new stadium would be for the future of our univiersity. They could easily influence the vote against us having a new era start for UNT, I know, I've seen it done. Go students! Vote yes and help the university now and in the future. You'll be one of us soon and you will understand a little more about what it takes to keep your university alive and well!! -
I suppose those that actually get kicked, yes. But with poor coverage the place kicker could get demolished along with the kicker and the kick could be eaten by the defense.

How do you find a Talon these days? Do they still take care of Boomer, the Bell and the Model A?? I asked this question recently and I was told, "look for them wearing their shirts". I haven't seen one yet...... But, if their are out there, they probably should be supporting this little project, don't ya think??

I saw him setting there too. Couldn't tell why. It really didn't look like a concussion discussion but it was something. = Proud of myself for the humor of words.

17. Niwigwe did a great job on defense but couldn't do it all himself. I had the binocs on him on the sideline and he was also doing a lot to torment Cole or fire him up, I couldn't tell. 18. We actually broke up at least two long bombs that earlier had burned us for scores. 19. The weather was nice

Thanks Deep! That's the first time I've seen it start to finish. I was in the Letterman's tent at halftime and missed it. Pretty quality job by anyone's standards.

I don't know, the trip down to Texas Stadium in the 70s was pretty fun and pretty well attended. The fanfare and location made it quite the party. We'll have to go back and check attendances but I think it was up from Fouts during the same time. That was when the urinals even worked and no generators were required for the hotdog stands.

Is The Asu Board Down, Or Is It Just Me?
GreenAlums replied to Fanof49ASU's topic in Mean Green Football
I think it must be down for repair or something. I can't get it to come up either. -
I sincerely think we could pull a huge amount of MoJo out of heaven and win the conference. Go Mean Green!

A Comment From The Nt Daily Article On The Football Stadium
GreenAlums replied to LAZER's topic in Mean Green Football
I appreciate Mr. Padwick's comments and his committment to the level of sending a letter to the city. I would send one but since I don't live in Denton (just Denton county) they may not be too inclined to listen. Maybe we have not asked the city for help? I also don't know the relationship between the University and the City but none the less, it seems like a relationship that should grow stronger from wherever it is now to a great deal more. I would like to think our chancellor or president have spent some time in City Hall recently. Like I said earlier, I wonder what would happen if another city were to be interested in partnering with us to build a new UNT stadium? Would that get ther attention?? -
The one component I continue to see missing in any article or conversation about the stadium is the partnership that we don't have with the city of Denton. Somehow, the city of Denton fails to see the huge advantages to the infrastructure of Denton a new stadium would be. I wonder how long they will seemingly stay silent on the issue. When Jerry Jones began the pitch for Jerry World to the DFW metroplex there was a battle to gain his attention. Arlington took on the project with open arms. Where is the city of Denton when it come to representing their piece of this puzzle. Just suppose another city were to be interested in building a UNT stadium. Lewisville, Frisco, Grand Prarie..... I contend that is not as far fetched as it may seem the first time you hear it. Denton really has a lot to lose here. It seems like they aren't even the least bit concerned because they have never been held accountable for contributing to what must be the largest employer in the city, maybe even the county. I'm feelin' no luv here! I'm not saying they should carry the burden, just pick up a grain of sand every once in a while.

That would be cool if the students wanted to do that. It would serve a great function now and just think of the collector's item it would be!!

Jody Dean and KLUV talk a LOT more about UNT. Maybe because we have purchased spots with them but...... Jody's son will be attending UNT next year. He told me that when I called in and reminded him we were playing Tulsa.

Great news! I've been holding my breathe and getting pretty blue! -
A million thanks and "hats off" to the Victory Pound!! This a great tradition to start and grow. You guys are a core of students that could mold the future of NT athletics and school spirit forever! Keep up the great work!!

Trud1966 I guess we won't get any information here about Casey. Maybe it's nothing, maybe they are watching it, and maybe none can report it just now, HIPPA and all....
