  1. You're probably right about the geographical differences. When you follow a team as closely as we die hards tend to do...it's hard to imagine someone that has never even heard of it. Our momentum was building...next season is VERY important.
  2. I have no problem with Texas State growing as a program. I don't agree that FIU, FAU, and Troy have passed us up in athletic accomplishments either. Ask anyone around the country about North Texas, and you'll at least see some sign of recognition of the program's existence. I don't know if we can say that about those Florida schools yet.
  3. No offense, but some of those players with 4.3 forty times should be playing in the SEC if those stats are accurate.
  4. The title of this post...the signing of T.O...and this weekend's weather kinda go hand in hand, don't they?
  5. Nice analysis...although I hope for better results. I REALLY think that a fully healthy Jamario is the X-factor here. If he runs like he did in '04 everything else will fall into place. Imagine how much more comfortable the QB (whichever one starts) will be if the running game is clicking. Jamario was breaking huge games against stacked lines AND against good teams. We had a lot of close losses last season. If our superstar is back in form...I like our chances in Sun Belt play next season. How's a little early morning positivity work for ya?
  6. I think that other than our past run of dominance over the league...the other teams and their respective finishing order has been almost a crap shoot. I think it will be the same way next season.
  7. The Inferno on Fry Street recently turned into a decent rock music venue. It used to be Rick's Place back in the day and has sustained some transformations...but you can go hear a band like Edgewater or South FM there. On a side note, some REALLY good Texas country artists have been coming to Rockin' Rodeo over the past few months...pretty much every Thursday night.
  8. Not a bad first day for me. I had a couple teams picked that lost (Nevada, Oklahoma, Utah State), but I had them losing in the next round anyway. Syracuse kinda hurt though. My Final Four: Duke Connecticut UCLA Villanova UConn wins over Duke in the title game. Not exciting, kinda conservative...but it's still in tact after day one, and that's always good!
  9. Bump...we can't lose to the Sonics dancers? Come on.
  10. The 'Boys could always use a good value linebacker!
  11. That puts me at ease a little bit too. I don't mind the helmet logo and the jersey style...I'd just like to go ahead and switch to the color that all of the new logos are being printed in. The old jerseys just look too dark when they get wet...they don't "pop" in photos or on tv. Compared to say...this: Believe me, I don't like Marshall...but I think that something close to their shade of green is what we will be getting. Personally, I think it will look better from far away, in pictures, on tv, etc. Oh, and I will definitely be ordering a jersey this year.
  12. I thought we were switching to a new shade of green for this upcoming season. Not wanting to start a debate or anything...but that's kind of disappointing.
  13. Hmmm...Ohio State or Florida???
  14. Not surprised to see us on OU's schedule again...I really don't mind. It's a body bag game, sure...but it's one we can easily drive to. And how on earth did Tulsa get OU to come to their place? They could fill the entire stadium with Sooner fans only.
  15. If the Big East expands, would they honestly take UCF and Marshall but not Memphis? I don't see that happening.
  16. Just for fun (and I do mean FUN), check this out: http://www.nba.com/features/dance_bracket_2006.html Let's vote for the Mavs dancers, who won in a landslide in the first round, on March 16th and get them to the finals. We all know they're the hottest around.
  17. How freakin' sweet is that?! So, so jealous.
  18. I think people underestimate just how important a healthy Josh Howard and Devin Harris are to this team. They'll be back...they can't be expected to win 20 out of 21 all the time. We get spoiled so quickly.
  19. That's me ranting and raving on there. I don't know why I can't just ignore students like those, but I just can't.
  20. I don't like the way the new font is so big across the front. And why is it still in the old color?
  21. That's pretty sweet. It kinda looks like little Elroy Jetson could be playing his college ball there though.
  22. I think a lot of it comes down to Duncan's health. If he's not 100 %...look out. Avery has them playing with a swagger I haven't seen since Van Exel's dismantling of the Kings a few years back. And now, the Mavs are top 10 in the NBA in every major defensive category. I never thought I'd be able to say that.
  23. Not exactly branding related, but I didn't want to start a completely new thread. MTV's lame show Room Raiders (Texas) came to Denton on their last episode. I knew it from the moment I saw those crazy looking new apartments (Sterling...maybe) slightly north of campus on 35. SURE ENOUGH...one of the guy contestants was wearing one of my all time favorite shirts...the solid grey t-shirt with the simple arched "MEAN GREEN" across the front. Good exposure. He did have a huge OU blanket on his bed though...ah well.
  24. Another new hat addition. This one is a little over the top for me. I'm STILL waiting for a nice fitted franchise fit hat in the new kelly green with the son of worm logo on it. The bookstore has them with the new font logos (some with the battle flag on the back) but nothing with the new eagle on the front. I hope we get one eventually.
  25. I'm not crazy about the UTA logo. However, I think the blue and orange color scheme works well. I like the Denver Broncos' look. In my opinion, there's not many teams in the NCAA with a better color scheme, logo, stadium, and overall look than the Virginia Cavaliers.
