  1. Maybe the high schoolers were right...this might not be too bad if true. These guys coached as a unit, keep that in mind.
  2. We'll be there...this is a perfect way to show Coach Dodge some early support. Come early, tailgate, be loud, and most importantly...WEAR GREEN! (preferably the new shade, that way we support the Dragons as well )
  3. I thought the coordinator talk was a little ridiculous too...but then I started thinking, these guys have been coaching together as a unit and have installed an unbelievably successful system. Who knows? I'll talk to a few more students today...things will have probably calmed down a little around the SLC campus.
  4. It's just ignorance that's all. Yes, they have an indoor practice facility, and yes they have an extremely nice 9,000 seat stadium (the Collins Complex in Denton is bigger). But the attendance talk, the "lateral" salary move, the "better athletes" at Carroll than at NT talk...is all total BS, and anyone with any football knowledge at all knows it. Just because they wear Under Armour jerseys doesn't mean they're bigger, better, or richer than ANY D-1 program.
  5. Okay, like I've said before, I have a few SLC students on my staff at work...and the word going around school today was that he was going to be bringing his offensive AND defensive coordinators with him. Take it for what it's worth. The high school rumors also spoke of a 2 year 1.2 million dollar contract...so again, take it for what it's worth.
  6. Not "77-1" great.
  7. Arkansas? That's the first I've heard of that one. Of course, I always love an autumn trip to Fayetteville.
  8. If Dodge were to come in, maybe he could bring the Southlake Dragon green with him so that our helmets/uniforms actually match our school color.
  9. Awesome news. The record and the national title speak for themselves...but what exactly does 1-AA Mid-major mean?
  10. Interview him, please! (Anyone remember those wrist bands with the triangle on them that all the players would wear?)
  11. I, for one, hope that this rumor site is accurate with this info.
  12. I'd be happy with any of the three!
  13. Plus, he's already the highest paid coach in all of college football...bringing in over $3 million a year.
  14. Jimbo Fisher huh...might not be too bad.
  15. Whatever happened to Austin Talon? We could use some sweet high-res avatars featuring the new logos!
  16. I'll never forget the 4 good years you helped build at this University...HOWEVER, you have to understand that with success comes RAISED EXPECTATIONS...and when those expectations are not met (or even come close to being met), someone else deserves a shot at righting the ship. That's just how it works in this business...college OR pro. Therefore, the lame, cowardly stab you took at my University with those morbid jerseys will be the thing I remember most about your tenure...not the bowl appearances. Congrats...don't let the door hit ya... Perry Glaze University of North Texas, 2005
  17. No different...his resume speaks for itself right this second.
  18. Someone want to clue those guys in? The dude that made the blanket statement about not leaving until his son does needs to be shown a quote or two...and the guy that said it's funny how we never recruited SLC players during Dickey's tenure needs to look up T. J. Culberson. I'm sure there were others as well that were pursued that we didn't land.
  19. I can confirm that he lives in Southlake.
  20. Is there a chance we finish the year at 5-7 like we did in 2001?
  21. The drive from Southlake to Denton is about 30 minutes depending on traffic...could be worse.
  22. I for one would be ecstatic if we landed Todd Dodge. Like I've said in previous posts...SLC wins not because they have superior athletes, but because they buy in to a great system and play as a team. How many D1 athletes does Southlake actually produce each year? Not too many. How many end up in the NFL? I think they have one (a kicker). They keep on winning despite their "key" players graduating. Dodge is able to produce winning teams with rosters comprised of mostly good, not great, athletes (compared to some other area schools). Sounds perfect for North Texas to me. Oh, and after years and years of "up the gut" football, it might be fun to watch a high octane offensive system...maybe that would excite some of the fence sitting fan base.
  23. Some make fun of us saying that Fouts has more advertisements than Texas Motor Speedway!
  24. Hey, R & L Carriers is one of the secondary sponsors for the #17 DeWalt Ford Fusion which is leading the points in the Chase for the Nextel Cup right now. I think they're a pretty viable and respected company.
  25. Not for us race fans!
