  1. Unfortunately, we lost a lot of the "I heard this new Dodge guy is going to make the team more exciting and better, so let's go check it out" crowd. We'll be right back to our 15k die hards next home game. It's a shame too.
  2. Dodge's offense needs at least a serviceable (read, average) quarterback to be successful. Meager ain't it.
  3. I wanted so badly to believe that Meager would be good this year. Can he run around escape potential sacks? Yes. Can he throw a fairly accurate 4 yard out? Yes. Can he run a successful QB draw/sweep? Yes. Is he a talented passer? NO! I'm sorry, but this is TWO GAMES in a row where we were in it with a legitimate chance to win UNTIL Meager decided to start making bone headed decisions. In all fairness, the deep ball tonight wasn't a bad decision but more a clear example of his extremely weak arm. I'll say one more thing about Meager and then I'll lay off for a while, and you can mark this down and read it all season long: EVEN THE MAGIC OF THE TODD DODGE SPREAD CAN'T COMPENSATE FOR THE SUCK FACTOR OF A DANIEL MEAGER.
  4. UNT: 45 FAU: 38 Attendance: 22,500 I'd take it!
  5. Okay, Miser was not bad. Their version of "Monster" gets played all the time on the Edge. I'd say that there was a good turnout compared to what I've seen in the past. The Dancers, Cheerleaders, and Scrappy were good. The captains of the team came out and spoke with Dodge (Weathers, J. Thomas, Mendoza, Holman, B. Jackson, and Chapman). Dodge said he wanted to see a packed house tomorrow "when we beat Florida Atlantic." I was kinda disappointed that they didn't do a mass give-away of the sweet FAU game shirts they had made. It would have been cool to have thousands wearing those shirts at the game. Oh well. They handed out bright green glow necklaces, and it looked SWEET when everyone had them waving and twirling. I know this has been brought up before, but how cool would it be if EVERYONE in the crowd at Fouts busted these out in the 4th quarter after it's gotten dark. What a photo op! Has anyone looked into this? Does anyone else do this at their games? The other big news from the rally...we have a new unified chant: Everyone yells MMMMMEEEEEEAAAAAANNNNNNN...G-R-E-E-N...GREEN! We practiced it 3 or 4 times. I think that for rhythm purposes it would have been better as: MMMMMEEEEAAAAAANNNNNNN...G-R-E-E-N MEAN GREEN! Ah well. Also, the Alumni side/student side NORTH...TEXAS chant is now: NORTH....TEXAS....MEAN...GREEN! They might have already changed that, I couldn't remember. They also printed on the cups that were given away the CORRECT way to cheer during kickoffs: (talons raised) GOOOOOOOOO....MEAN! GREEN! (when ball is kicked). This sounds MUCH better than: GOOOOOOOO-AHHH or GOOOOOOO-UGH! All in all, we had a good time.
  6. I'd say that the "fast" majority of us will be there early.
  7. He's definitely improved. However, until he can cut down on mistakes in the clutch...I will consider these "empty numbers." It's kinda like Texas Tech lighting up every offensive statistical category but not winning anything significant.
  8. Remember the cut away celebration sequences in Tecmo Bowl!
  9. That's what I was thinking too. Do you know of any over the air antenna that picks up signal clearly in Denton? If not, I'll just buy a dish and a tripod.
  10. I've been wanting to set up a tv at my tailgate, but I'm not sure the best way to go about it. Can anyone recommend a quiet generator? Also, do you bring along a satellite receiver and a dish? Or can you get a decent picture off an antenna from Wal-mart or RadioShack?
  11. Laughin my a$$ off at "nacho turds." Damn gross.
  12. At least it looks slightly newer.
  13. Wow, before this thread gets derailed...I like the spirit of this. It's been a LONG time coming, and there is a TON of anticipation going into this game. Take a minute to think about how long this offseason was. Get there early, wear green, and be loud! I'm with you Jennifer.
  14. C-USA board is listing 20,500. I think that's a little generous.
  15. Another Mean Green crowd shot. I'd say we brought 5000 strong.
  16. Oh...and holding anyone?
  17. I thought for a second that the RB's other arm might be stretched out with the ball breaking the plane. However, this angle shows that it was not the case. From RJY's site.
  18. 20 bucks? You can't beat that. Mark me down for one (and maybe a $15 polo shirt also).
  19. First Arkansas State and now Middle Tennessee going toe to toe with some heavyweights? Good for the Sun Belt...could be bad news for us.
  20. (Ouch.) My Buddy!

  22. 31-27...North Texas gets the win. Mark it. Season starts Saturday everyone, see ya'll there.
  23. I like how they act like they know their stuff by saying "SMU had no chance at beating Texas Tech" in their summary when they predicted them to beat the Red Raiders by 2. Idiots.
