Is he a Grey-Shirt? What does that even mean?

I was on the Dallas Morning News website, and they had a list of last year's recruiting class, and I saw a couple of guys on there that I don't remember hearing anything about. Anyone know if they're still on the team? DT Robert Peachey 6'5" 270 DE David Collins 6'4" 210 Collins was pretty light, but now these guys have had a year to put some meat on pretty nice sized frames. Any info?

Seems like almost everyone we sign is a 2*. Is it that we're recruiting better players? Or has the program gotten to a point that Rivals assumes they're at least a 2* if they sign with us?

Wasn't Santiago being recruited by Missouri? It'd be nice to grab a kid that they wanted. Nice to see someone that's 6'5" as well.

Anything new on Charlie Brown's brother Brent? I really had hoped he might follow his brother to UNT, but haven't heard anything lately. Are we still in the mix? Also it's good to see several guys with decent size looking at us at this point. Bring it on!

Anyone know what the attendance was? Great to hear that people showed up and made some noise.

Reduno - I don't follow SBC basketball much other than how the UNT squad is doing. I really didn't mean that you're team was the worst, I was exagerating the point to show how unpredictable our team can be sometimes. I'm sorry if it was degrading/offensive, that's not how I meant it. I did look at our game against UNO as a game we should have won, and was upset when we lost. Your team played better that night. Sorry again. GMG!!!

I know people say not to get caught up in how many "Stars" a guy has, but it seems like we have more guys looking at us and committing that are Rated than we have in the past? Hope Drake firms up his commitment, but it's nice to see us win against schools like Toledo and UTEP, since I'd say they're close to the same spot that we're in. GMG!!!! Keep 'em coming Dickey and crew!

I always thought it would be great to shave a strip in my hair...you know "down there", and then get a tattoo of a man mowing the lawn & waving out to anyone looking. My girlfried (eventually wife) for some reason didn't agree......no tattoos.

Wasn't '94 the year we were trying to move up to Division 1A? I think they were selling $2 tickets to businesses and then counting tickets sold instead of butts in seats. I guess it worked.

Is there any way to find the average attendance for those years? I think our program is FINALLY getting back to a point where we have some school spirit growing with both students and alumni. Do we have a long way to go? Sure we do? But are things better than they were? Absolutely. They key is getting the students to go, because they'll stay fans after they graduate, but it's nice to see the alumni starting to come back even for a losing season. Is that do to DD? It's debatable. Having some winning years and bowl games helps, but then so does the Tailgating and overall game day atmosphere. It's to a point where the game day is fun even when the team isn't winning, that'll keep folks coming back. You can't judge OUR program solely on record, because we had such a LONG way to go on all fronts. Though it's certainly frustrating to not be knocking off the OOC teams.

Am I the only one who likes the old NT logo on the helmets? Not so much inside the football, but the lettering looks kind of cool. I also like the big stripe down the middle with the numbers on the back on the helmet.

I think it still has a lot to do with how UNT is perceived by the locals. We're still not viewed as much beyond a commuter school, and there isn't a lot of energy being spent on marketing to the DFW area. I don't know what the answer is, but until the perception changes people will still think those other schools offer more.

It would be nice to get past the first round, but getting to the Tournament 2 years in a row, can only help the program. To girls playing soccer, it's got to be a lot more attractive to go to a school that consistantly gets you to that point. Plus maybe our school can get a little name recognition because of it. Way to go Lady's! GMG!!!

I was just reading these, and thinking to myself "Good Grief I wish Spring Practice would get started." I know people on this board will go watch practices, I try to make a few of them myself. What if we got a big sign that says something like "UNT Top 25" or "Nothing less than Top 25" or how about "Dickey - Give us 25". Maybe it would help our players and coaches better understand what our expectations and demands are. Do you remember when Mark Cuban hung up the signs about how bad our defense was in the Post Season to motivate the players to step up their game? Maybe we should do something like that. Good idea? Or less than Good idea?

Seems like everywhere I go now, I see people wearing NT gear. Saw it numerous times at North Park mall over the holidays, and was even stopped because I was wearing my NT hat by an Alum who hadn't been back on campus since '84. He said he was going to try to make a couple of basketball games this year.
