Student side was awesome! I was disappointed that SMU didn't bring more, but the alumni side was a HUGE disappointment . Mentioned it several times during the game to my wife. We sat in the endzone because our daughter likes to sit in the "wing", but there were so many empty seats over there!

I did see a woman have to be carried out by a big security guy because of heat stroke in the tail-zone.

Nah, but it feels good to beat a team people have heard of. When we got home my neighbor was in her front yard and asked about the gsme. When I told her the score said. "Oh, wow!" Big score against a name.

Defense could be really good again this year. So far they're the highlight of the season.

So with the start of the school year, my 2nd Grader discovers her new teacher is a die hard Longhorn Fan (a real one - she went there, her kids went there, etc). I find out last night that my daughter and the 2nd Grade Teacher, who have been engaging in some good natured smack talking for the past few days, have made a bet on the outcome of the game. Apparently my daughter came up with the payoff. If the Mean Green pull out a victory, my daughter doesn't have homework for 2 weeks, but if UT wins, she has to bring the teacher lunch next week (4 days). I admire my daughters spunk, but I think I may need to introduce her to betting against the spread instead of a straight win/lose bet. I hope I'm wrong. I'm excited to see how this year goes. 31-17 UNT. We'll probably go down 7-0 early, and then all hell breaks loose. Remaining 10 points come in the 4th quarter in a game that's already decided.

Our defense does an outstanding job of flying to the ball and hurting the carrier with the hits. Missed assignments can be negated in some cases by quickness, which we have. That being said. This one scares me more than USM. Probably because I want it more, and so does everyone else. Go Mean Green!!
