  1. Patrick Cobbs's passing record is 1-1, 1 TD, no INT's.
  2. I don't think it's completely farfetched. It happens to some extent every year in the Big12 South. You only have to look back to 2002 to see a pretty similar scenario. I left Nebraska in where applicable. Forgive me for omitting Baylor from the analysis. Texas A&M: Oct 5 Texas Tech L 48-47 OT Oct 26 Nebraska L 38-31 Nov 2 at Oklahoma St L 28-23 Nov 9 Oklahoma W 30-26 Nov 29 at Texas L 50-20 Texas: Oct 5 Oklahoma State W 17-15 Oct 12 Oklahoma L 35-24 Nov. 2 at Nebraska W 27-24 Nov 16 at Texas Tech L 42-38 Nov 29 Texas A&M W 50-20 OU: Oct. 12 Texas W 35-24 Nov. 9 at Texas A&M L 30-26 Nov. 23 Texas Tech W 60-15 Nov. 30 at Oklahoma St L 38-28 OSU: Oct 5 at Texas L 17-15 Oct 19 Nebraska W 24-21 Nov 2 Texas A&M W 28-23 Nov 9 at Texas Tech L 49-24 Nov 30 Oklahoma W 38-28 Tech: Oct 5 at Texas A&M W 48-47 OT Nov 9 Oklahoma St W 49-24 Nov 16 Texas W 42-38 Nov 23 at Oklahoma L 60-15
  3. 13,204? More like 204.
  4. Maybe he could have an intervention session with Dickey about running up the middle on 3rd and long.
  5. Man, good point. Baz is probably the most taken-for-granted player on our team.
  6. I edited it. I don't want to run off a friendly LaTech visitor. My score prediction stands though. I think it will be a good game, and I plan to be in Ruston to see it.
  7. Well, yeah, then that doesn't bode well for this year. I went into the UT game last year with the previous three season openers in mind... OU 35 NT 3 UT 27 NT 0 OU 31 NT 10 (I think..) Those were pretty qualified teams as well. Not sure what broke loose last year to make it 65-0. Maybe you can blame it on the team being in mourning? I just don't want to see it happen again.
  8. I think we'll be in some high scoring games this year. Mainly because we can't expect our defense to be of the Kennedy-Spencer-Hurd-Casey variety. Grouped by opponents, with comments.... LSU 49 NT 3 - please let us get some first downs and score. KSU 35 NT 21 - helped by being a little later in the season NT 42 Tulsa 28 - strong showing in home opener. NT 35 LaTech 31 - it's OOC and on the road. NT 35 MTSU 28 - We own them. NT 21 Troy 14 - Their D is still good, but we're at home. Avg for the rest of the SunBelt - Home games: NT 42 Opponent 14 Road games: NT 31 Opponent 20
  9. Permission, shmermission. That's what Dickey is going to do because he is Darrell Dickey. HOWEVER, if we don't go out there and at least TRY to punch LSU in the mouth, we don't deserve to win any OOC games. I fully expect a blowout loss to LSU. Hell, I'd consider 35-7 a moral victory. But it better not be like UT last year. That was pathetic.
  10. Hmmmm.... I must have you confused with somebody else. Last winter when the last CUSA invite was up in the air, I lurked on that board frequently, and the Marshall fans were constantly ripping on UNT. Probably just because they wanted a conference mate within driving distance, but it was pretty harsh talk for people that probably know NOTHING about our school. Maybe it was someone with a similar username. Anyway, sorry for calling you out. I have nothing against Southern Miss, except with regard to the stomping you guys gave us in New Orleans last year. Hopefully we'll get another shot at you soon, and all the better if it's a conference game.
  11. Not completely sure which side of the argument (WAC vs. SBC for Latech) you're on, but..... Regardless of the actual schedules that were compared, the fact remains that NMSU, Idaho, and USU are now in the WAC. So a more appropriate comparison would be LaTech's and ULL's travel costs for schedules which reflect the new conference alignments. Not trying to change your mind about the WAC, if that's what you're sold on. I just think people need to read into statistics that are presented in any debate. Also, just so that nobody gets the wrong idea, I did not travel to "Denton, Stillwater, Hattiesburg, Mufreesboro, South Carolina and Minnesota" in 2003, as I am Mean Green fan, not a ULL fan.
  12. Reading that reminds me of how much I hate the Marshall fans on that board. Herdzone and ccs-whatever are two of the biggest jerks to ever obtain internet access. Between them and Lynndie England, my opinion of West Virginians is falling fast. Also, I like how the guy on the LaTech board does a travel cost comparison between ULL and LT, on a year when ULL went to NMSU and Idaho. Those two are now on the LT schedule and off ULL's. Not to mention that LT didn't go to Hawaii that year. He really cherry-picked those numbers to make a point.
  13. Tom and Jo's was awesome. Best fries I've ever had, and the best burger in Denton. That location is now called Pollo Bueno. Pretty good place.
  14. Yep. I thought about this as I was wishing we had Steven Jyles, another sunbelt QB that was pressed into service as a Freshman.
  15. I wish we had him. I'm sure Byerly will do fine, but Jyles is a proven QB that would fit in the Buick system nicely.
  16. Yep. And if Dickey hadn't given up halfway through the 3rd quarter, we still could have squeaked out a win, even without Jamario.
  17. QB - Steven Jyles, Sr., UL Monroe RB - Patrick Cobbs, Sr., North Texas RB - Jamario Thomas, Soph., North Texas WR - Drouzon Quillen, Jr., UL Monroe WR - Johnny Quinn, Jr., North Texas You could have the freakin' Lollipop Guild for an OL and still put up points.
  18. Perhaps, but a stouter limb than one would be on to say that TCU will do it.
  19. You must not have made it to Austin () or Waco() last year.
  20. If anyone is going to give OU a close game it is likely to be Texas.
  21. Wow. Is he saying that WKU is the only horse pulling its weight in this conference? He's making a fool of himself. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, bitches.
  22. What a shame. He was the Joe Montana of high school QBs. The dude could win a football game.
  23. Bari's has the best Italian food in town, IMO. Bring cash. They don't take plastic.
