  1. I would like to see Phillip Graves at safety. He's damn sure fast enough and brings some experience to the crew. With the number of capable linebackers, I think it makes sense to keep an athlete like Graves on the field, however you do it. Seems like Dickey often lined up Craig Jones and Jonas Buckles as sort of a fourth linebacker anyway.
  2. That's like choosing between your kids.
  3. Harmon's on crack. I'll be partying like we won the super bowl if it's that close. BTW, glad to have you back Cowbell. Haven't seen you post in a while.
  4. Looks blue in that pic but it's actually a Chrysler (bleccch) late model factory color called Opal Satin Glow. Effectively a light pearl grey. Thanks for the props. I also have a black '71 F100 that you came by and checked out last year at one of the tailgates.
  5. With that name, there should not be a QB controversy. He's the guy.
  6. Love your optimism, and hope you're right, but I'm not betting the farm just yet. I really hope his injuries are behind him. Other than his leg injury in high school and the shoulder this spring, one of these articles mentions a kidney injury and a hip flexor pull. Question- I asked this a while back, and I think I forgot to watch for a reply - Was it his throwing shoulder that he injured this spring? Seems like it would make a big difference in whether he will have recovered this year.
  7. NICE car, Rick. Here's mine. Maybe you'll recognize the background. I built this car while I was in college.
  8. "JT: I come from a big family and I love it – 3 brothers and 3 sisters" Does that mean there is a 3rd Super Mario brother coming up, or is he older? Is his name LaMario?
  9. And isn't it about time? Good one!
  10. That ought to be your clue, Stebo.
  11. We were already planning for 8am mimosas, eggs, and pancakes at our tailgate.
  12. Yeah, you can store it at my place if you want.
  13. We can also be inspired by the endurance of his vocal chords at the game, hehe. I'll pour one on the ground for you before the Tulsa game, Rob!
  14. Nah. If he had low ratings from teachers, it was due to the tenure scandal. I didn't follow that real closely (or I would have died of boredom), but I get the sense that he was largely blamed for either mishandling the issue or for profs being denied tenure - perhaps unfairly. Again, I don't know the specifics on that.... And yeah, LJ is clearly behind the Branding Fiasco, but to say he is the main reason we're not getting a new stadium right now is a stretch. I think the lack of $50 million to spend is the main reason. Regardless of whatever it was that happened regarding tenure, I think Dr. Pohl was a great prez for UNT and I hate to see him go. I hope RV doesn't follow him out.
  15. I hope a bunch of people do go in early for pregame stuff. But I'm not going to be one of them. Seems to me that your car will be more secure if there are a bunch of people in the parking lot. I know if I saw someone breaking into a car I'd do something about it. Now, if you leave a cooler full of beer in the back of your truck, I hope you're not too thirsty when the game is over. That's the one thing I lock up in the cab.
  16. The team is staying out behind the woodshed, which is where LSU is going to take them. ... Hey, at least I beat PURPLEKAT to the joke.....
  17. Exactly. The only issue is the schedule... If we lose, it will be because our team can't seem to get ready until week 4 or 5.
  18. I can't recall ever defending Richard Bridges. Or saying anything about him whatsoever. Not defending Ieans either... just noting some harsh talk.
  19. Jeez..... did he shoot your dog or something?
  20. Maybe they'll mount an actual cannon on his shoulder. As an alumnus of the E-tech department, I'll volunteer as an industry advisor on the project.
  21. was it his throwing shoulder?
  22. Did you ask him that when you ran into him?
  23. People from Denton who watched him win many of those 42 games, especially some of his awesome playoff performances, care. Not saying you have to.
  24. Pffffffft.......I'd be happy if you were RIGHT on that one. I think Eagle-96's prediction is way more likely.
  25. That year we had a good backfield (Galbreath and Cobbs) and a top 10 defense.........and we started the season 1-5. Somehow that doesn't restore my confidence going into this season. Other thoughts/opinions/BS: -I'm not completely convinced on the Byerly rumors, but I'm not ordering a #5 jersey just yet either. I think that if he is eligible, he will be the starter. -Meager might be as good a runner as Byerly (I think his listed 40 speed is better), but I wouldn't look for a guy with his injury history to be running the ball too much with Jamario and Patrick around. Plus, if he gets hurt AGAIN, we're back to Mills, Kellen Haynes (seems like he had some good moments in the spring game, or one of the Freshmen. -Even after our disastrous offseason last year, and the horrid first few games of the season that it brought about, some of you guys are STILL putting on the green-tinted goggles. If we are without Byerly, it is not good. Sure, the high school stats and the scouting reports on our new guys are great, but that doesn't mean much come game time. Byerly may not be Vince Young, but at least he's played a few downs in college, got a bunch of reps in the spring, and won't break in half the first time he gets hit.
