Not exactly..... but it does indicate that we were above the NCAA average (represented by the black curve) in both of those ranges. For example, we converted about 80% of the time on 3rd and 2, and 30% of the time on 3rd and 10. And yes, the defensive one is depressing.

PAC 10 doesn't get much respect around here because we don't get to see many of the games. ABC will broadcast Missouri v. Iowa State here before they'll show the PAC 10. But there are some pretty damn good teams besides USC.... Oregon and UCLA to name two, and Cal last year.

I don't think you can call the one game on the schedule that has a big red circle around it a trap game. It's a must-win.

I'm a 2nd gen. My wife is a 4th gen. Her great-grandfather went to Texas Normal College around 1910, I think. We recently saw his diploma from there. By my count, at least 11 people in my family went to NT. Some transferred out and/or didn't graduate from NT.

Three of our best recruiters are leaving. One of them is retiring. Somehow I doubt the other two were asked to leave.

Sweet! 6-4, 235 and runs a 4.7. Put another 15-20 lbs on him and he could be a killer DE. Seeing (I presume) his family and coaches all decked out in NT stuff is really cool.

Just a guess since he's coming from a juco... maybe he needs the spring semester for either credit hours or grades to be able to transfer.

Whichever DT turns into the next Booger. You better hope one of them does.

"Good enough that he could get playing time as a Freshman." -- I think we have to expect this as a possibility for any of our DT recruits. Not necessarily a bad thing.

I see what you're saying. More of an issue of "rapport" than "reputation." If you want to look for a reason why NT doesn't get enough general fan interest in DFW, lack of local recruiting is has to be one of them. If we had more local hometown high school heroes on our roster, seems like more people from those hometowns would show up at our games.

Care to elaborate?
